We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the Greater Sudbury community; Home Instead and their Be a Santa to a Senior program, St. Peters United Church and their Annual White Christmas, local families, Family Council, Residents’ Council, our Activity Department, and our dedicated volunteers for the outpouring of generosity shown to our residents this holiday season.

Because of you, our home is filled with kindness, thoughtfulness, and the true spirit of the holidays. We are truly overwhelmed by your generosity and so grateful for the time, care, and love that went into each and every gift.

We cannot wait to see the smiles on our residents’ faces as they open their presents on Christmas Day. It’s moments like these that mean more than words can express. Thank you for helping make this season so special and for continuing to support and uplift our residents in such meaningful ways as a community!

🎄 Great News! Our Annual Holiday Bazaar is BACK! 🎄

Thanks to the incredible support of our Activity Department, Resident Council, Family Council, and our wonderful vendors, we’re excited to announce that our annual Holiday Bazaar is officially back on and happening this weekend!

📅 Friday: 10 AM – 4 PM
📅 Saturday: 10 AM – 4 PM

✨ FREE entry for all! ✨

If you’d like to help support the Edgar Burton Food Drive, we will have a drop-off box onsite for non-perishable food items. Together, let’s reach our goal of filling two full boxes for our community!

Today, we pause together as a community to honour and remember the brave men and women who served and continue to serve, our country with courage, dedication, and love.

Remembrance Day holds deep meaning within our home, as many of our residents, families, and staff have personal connections to those who answered the call of duty. Some have served themselves; others have stood behind loved ones who went overseas, worked on the home front, or contributed in countless quiet ways to the freedoms we hold dear today.

At the eleventh hour, on the eleventh day of the eleventh month, we stand in silence; not only to remember those who fell, but to reflect on their legacy of peace, resilience, and unity. Their sacrifices remind us of the importance of compassion and understanding in our everyday lives.

As we gather today, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to the veterans among us. Your stories, strength, and wisdom continue to inspire us all. We also remember those who are no longer with us, whose memory lives on through the poppy we wear close to our hearts.

Let us never forget.
Let us continue to honour, through our kindness and care for one another, the values they fought to protect.

After much discussion, we have made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s Holiday Bazaar due to the home’s current outbreak status. We know how much everyone looks forward to this annual event, and this decision was not made lightly. Our top priority remains the health and safety of our residents, staff, family and visitors.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and truly appreciate your understanding and support. Although the bazaar will not take place this year, the spirit of the season will continue to shine throughout the home. Our teams are already collaborating on alternative holiday festivities, so please stay tuned for more details in the coming weeks.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the Activity Department, Resident Calendar Planning Groups, Residents’ Council, and Family Council for their incredible efforts and enthusiasm in organizing the bazaar. We know that planning large events like this takes time, creativity, and dedication, and your commitment does not go unnoticed.

Thank you all for your continued understanding, teamwork, and compassion as we move through this season together.
