Lifting Smarter: Everyday Spine Support
From picking up the kids to unloading groceries—how you lift matters. Here’s how to protect your back naturally:
1) Pause + Check Your Position: Stand steadily, bend at your knees, not your waist, and use your legs, not your back.
2) Keep the Load Close: Hold things close to your body. Move slowly, and if you need to turn, pivot with your feet instead of twisting your spine.
3) Take Breaks & Break It Up: If something feels heavy or awkward, split it into smaller loads or ask for help.
4) Build Spine-Strong Habits: Regular stretching and light strengthening (especially core work) can make a big difference. Try gently bracing your core before lifting (like tightening a belt): it helps stabilize your spine.
