Total Lunar Eclipse in Virgo: Trust Your Flow
Dear star friends, Bonjour! 💜
Sending warm energy waves to everyone. I promise this post is shorter than my last one! We just experienced our second eclipse in a series that began with a Solar Eclipse New Moon in Aquarius on February 27, which also initiated the Lunar Year of the Fire Horse. We can feel powerful energetic turbulence and surges of aggression in the world, but we can also feel the light and life force of the Sun rising throughout March here in the Northern Hemisphere.
The weather here is warm and the snow is melting fast. Spring is very close now. This light and life force of the Sun is also rising in the hearts of multitudes of people across the world who are growing stronger as warriors of light, truth, freedom, justice, and compassion. You don’t hear that message in mainstream media, but if you are reading this, I bet you can feel it. Thank you for being here!
This Total Lunar Eclipse on March 3 is closely aligned with the South Node of the Moon — our collective karmic past. It brings to light important themes and patterns that have been running our habits, routines, and systems for a long time, and are now ready for evaluation. For many days before and after this Eclipse we can experience some profound emotional, physical, or spiritual releasing and deep healing. The powerful light of these eclipses, in addition to the Saturn-Neptune convergence in Aries, is illuminating the long shadows of political, cultural, and spiritual leadership everywhere. It is important for us to see it, feel it, acknowledge it, and process it in our own way so that we can then hold space for others who may be more frazzled in this awakening process.
As more and more people awaken to their most authentic inner light and soul essence, they step into their power and come into stronger alignment with their life purpose. They become the leaders of their own lives quietly, without shouting. They become more present, grounded, clear, and decisive in their actions to embody peace, radiate love, and anchor faith in a brighter future for everyone and all life. Like migratory birds who take turns leading the flock into the wind, we are not meant to carry the journey alone, but to share the effort, the resistance, and the sacred exchange of energy along the way. Community support has never been more important.
Can you feel that Mercury is retrograde these days? From February 26 to March 20, the winged Messenger of the gods is retrograde in the dreamy, mystical waters of Pisces. When we track the wider shadow period (when Mercury moves back over the degrees it will later revise), the pre-shadow began around February 11 and the post-shadow will end around April 9. This retrograde in Pisces is designed to support us in reviewing, reflecting, and reimagining our lives by reconnecting with the guidance of our soul and spirit — the higher realms that we can feel through Pisces.
This is a profound time of surrender and letting go of rigid thinking to perceive a higher dimensional reality that exists beyond right or wrong, bad or good, light or dark. We can better see the interconnectedness in everything, and remember that connection is more important than correction.
As Saturn and Neptune continue to dance in the first degrees of Aries, the cosmos invites us to focus on reengineering our reality inspired by our most cherished dreams and heartfelt visions. This is not fantasy or wishful thinking — it is a metamorphosis in human consciousness. Like butterflies emerging from the cocoon, this is the beginning of profound transformation.
This Lunar Eclipse is happening in Virgo, the sign of health, healing, the gut microbiome, ecology, employment, and service. The shadow of Virgo is judgment and perfectionism. This is a powerful opportunity to become more conscious of our critical, self-sabotaging ego mind, and develop conscious discernment in all we think and do. High vibe Virgo inspires us to live more naturally and in purity of mind, compassionately reframing our thoughts along more self-loving pathways. Creative and spiritual practices are wonderful medicines right now to consciously prevent ourselves from seeking escape and to become more embodied.
One aspect of the healing journey in this eclipse is to consciously pivot away from external influence and reorient ourselves to our soul and body’s innate wisdom. And to reclaim inner peace and personal power rooted in authenticity. When we stand in our own light, we allow our soul glow to illuminate our journey forward. There is a tremendous amount of Pisces magic in the air at this time with the Sun, Mercury, Venus, Mars, and the North Node all swimming in the Pisces waters that connect the physical and the spiritual realms. We may have strong dreams, or feel like we are awakening from a dream. Since Saturn aligned with Neptune in February, and really, throughout this decade, there is a growing sense that we are waking up from a long dream spell, which can stir up feelings of disenchantment and disillusionment. “Reality” is not so fixed. Magic and genius arise when we allow things to remain a little blurry or ambiguous and unfold organically.
Jupiter is strongly and smoothly aspecting this Eclipse, expanding our vision and multidimensional awareness — helping us to understand reality as much more complex, fluid, and changeable than we were taught to believe. When we raise our consciousness beyond the clouds of illusion, we can see that there are infinite, limitless possibilities of what life truly is. In this way, we are birthing New Earth through us.
Pisces and Virgo are both Mutable signs that remind us to flow more smoothly with life, sensing changing energy currents and adapting to them more gracefully. We can flow between logical analysis and intuitive knowing, and trust our rhythm.
