Warm greetings from the stars! Welcome to the first Full Moon of the year, illuminating the brand-new energetics and bold potentialities of 2026. Thank you for joining me to explore some of the astrological, psychological, emotional, and spiritual currents flowing into this exciting new year.
In numerology, 2025 carried the frequency of 9 - the energy of completion and endings - while 2026 holds the magic of 1, a powerful vibration of new beginnings and fresh initiatives. This numerological shift mirrors the astrology of 2026 beautifully. We are still basking in the glow of the Full Moon in Cancer, which was exact early on January 3 at 13° Cancer, opposing the Sun at 13° Capricorn. At this time, the Sun, Mars, Venus, and Mercury are all in Capricorn—the sign of the Builder, Engineer, and Architect of life. We are being called to build new structures to support and sustain our growth this year. What are you building, and what does it truly mean to you?
Capricorn season invites us to reflect on what we intend to build and how we can strengthen our core energetic boundaries. In esoteric language, the great Sea-Goat also represents the inner Captain, Ambassador, and Lonely Leaper in High Places. As the part of us wired to climb to new heights, both in the physical world and in the maturity of consciousness, Capricorn requires solitude and sacred space to focus on the soul’s truest goals and ambitions.
Ask yourself whether your goals, mission, or sense of purpose feel right in your body and in your bones. The Cancer Moon invites us to feel into what we are truly and authentically aligned with. The purpose of the Full Moon in Cancer is to integrate emotional sensitivity, security, comfort, softness, and deep nourishment with Capricorn’s outer strength and strategic mindset. Part of us naturally seeks comfort in the past, the familiar, and the known. This Full Moon may also illuminate old survival strategies we continue to cling to, even when they no longer serve us and may be painful or destructive.
As we step into January - winter, cold, earth, and Capricorn energy - my mind instinctively drifts to July, summer, warmth, water, and the beauty of Cancer season. Opposite zodiac signs complete one another, just as the winter solstice completes the summer solstice. We are always in oneness. While it is important to stay focused on our responsibilities and life mission, it is equally vital to know when to rest, soften, and devote time to self-care, repair, renewal, and regeneration.
As the culmination point of the lunar cycle, the Full Moon offers an opportunity to recognize what is ready to be processed and released. Because the Cancer Full Moon activates powerful instincts for nurturing and healing old pains and emotional imprints, this is an especially potent time for letting-go rituals and healing affirmations.
January serves as the final release period before an epic rebirth and evolutionary acceleration cycle that begins in February, when Saturn forms a perfect conjunction with Neptune at 0° Aries for the first time in 6,000 years. We are standing on the threshold of personal and collective change so profound it may feel beyond comprehension. Can you sense this on some level?
This Full Moon is conjunct Jupiter in Cancer, bringing grace, gifts, and a soothing healing balm. Jupiter expands our capacity for connection and mutual support, especially with our biological and soul families. Just yesterday, I spent quiet time in nature and felt called to tune into my soul tribe and sense that living frequency. In its highest expression, this Full Moon embraces all life on Earth - because, in truth, we are one vast galactic family.
Jupiter is also square Chiron in Aries, which has just turned stationary and is preparing to move direct. This alignment supports the reclamation of personal agency and courage in our healing journey, helping us build renewed momentum with confidence and willpower. Allow this energy to nurture you in beautiful and unexpected ways.
Over the next two weeks, Venus, the Sun, and Mars form a rare and powerful triple conjunction in Capricorn. Mars invites grounded strength, focus, and a practical “take-charge” attitude. Venus, reborn through her conjunction with the Sun, asks us to embody more love, harmony, connection, and rhythm in our lives. As part of this cycle, Venus becomes the Evening Star, visible just after sunset rather than before sunrise, when she appeared as the Morning Star.
