Caregiving takes heart — and we want to make sure the people doing the caring feel supported, steady, and well. 💛

We’re excited to introduce Caring With Strength, a Wholebeing Wellness program created specifically for caregivers and personal support workers.
This 4-part modular workshop helps caregivers:

✨ Build emotional resilience
✨ Strengthen physical well-being (movement, rest, sleep, breathwork)
✨ Understand and manage stress
✨ Set healthy boundaries without guilt
✨ Reduce burnout and compassion fatigue
✨ Reconnect to meaning, purpose, and self-compassion
✨ Learn simple, science-backed tools they can use every day

At Good Hearts Senior Care, we believe caring for caregivers is caring for families.

That’s why clients receiving a certain level of weekly care hours will receive this program completely free as part of their support with us.
For all other clients and community members, the program is also available for purchase — because every caregiver deserves to feel steady, supported, and well.

Whether you’re caring for a loved one or working in the field, this program gives you practical, doable tools to refill your energy and care with heart — without burning out.

Staying Safe During the Holidays: A Guide for Family Caregivers and Seniors
The Holiday season is a time of joy, connection, and celebration—but it can also bring unique safety challenges for older adults. With thoughtful planning, the season can remain festive and secure for everyone. Below are essential tips to help caregivers and seniors enjoy the holidays with comfort, safety, and peace of mind.
Holiday schedules can disrupt routines, which is risky for older adults who rely on consistency; Therefore, stick to medication schedules by setting phone alarms.
Watch dietary changes as Holiday meals are often rich or sugary. Be mindful if managing diabetes, heart conditions, or digestive issues.
Monitor alcohol intake as alcohol can interfere with medications and balance.
The holidays often mean larger crowds and increased noise, which may feel overwhelming for some seniors.
Keep gatherings senior-friendly by providing comfortable seating in quieter areas and avoiding loud music or overstimulating environments.
Plan holiday events with breaks, short visits, or earlier times of day when older adults have more energy.
Reduce infection risk by encourage handwashing and
considering smaller gatherings if the senior is immunocompromised.
Holidays can bring joy—but also loneliness, grief, or stress; Therefore, support emotional well-being by including seniors in holiday planning or simple tasks they enjoy, such as wrapping gifts or choosing recipes.
Seniors may need breaks during gatherings. Recognize signs of overwhelm.
Caregiving doesn’t pause for the holidays, but support can help. Divide responsibilities among family members. Take time to rest. Consider a respite care service that can be provided by Home Care Service providers.

September is World Alzheimer’s Month, an international campaign to raise dementia awareness and challenge stigma. Each year, Alzheimer’s and dementia associations from around the world unite to organise advocacy and information events.

Alzheimer’s Disease International (ADI) has just released the 2025 World Alzheimer Report. The report presents a global and practical roadmap for ‘reimagining life with dementia’ through rehabilitation, shedding light on what rehabilitation means in dementia care and why it matters, as well as how tailored and goal-oriented approaches can help people maintain function, independence, and participation across settings and stages.

This report highlights evidence that personalized rehabilitation improved everyday functioning for individuals living with dementia—and can delay loss of independence. It notes the current global gap in access to rehabilitation services and calls for rehabilitation to be embedded into national plans, workforce trainings, and benefits packages as a matter of rights and practical economics.
