As we enter our busiest time of the year, please remember to book your next appointment before you leave the office. We have a very limited number of same day visits for acute/sick concerns. Check ups and behavior follow ups require longer appointments and are booking over 1 month out, longer if you have specific time requests.

Please cancel your appointment if you are unable to attend. We will be enforcing our no show policy.

If you are a current patient and expecting a new baby please let us know as soon as you are comfortable so that we can plan ahead.

We encourage you to wear a mask in the office. As much as we try to separate sick and well visits, there are a lot of illnesses going around. We continue to wear our masks in the office and the doctors have received their flu vaccines for the season.

We will be holding a number of flu vaccine clinic days during the month of October. We can also do them for any child 6 months or older at their scheduled well child check.

For the vaccine clinics, we will initially prioritize children 5 and under. If you are interested in getting a flu vaccine for your child please email the office at drbarrapeds@gmail.com with the subject line FLU VACCINE. We will be reaching out over the coming weeks to schedule everyone so please be patient.

You can let us know if you have an appointment preference but unfortunately we cannot guarantee that we will be able to accommodate as we anticipate we will have a few hundred appointments to schedule. Please note, while your child’s primary provider may not be the one administering the vaccine, they will be seen by a qualified member of our team.

Flu vaccines can also be received through public health and pharmacies if our office availability does not work for you.

We recommend the flu vaccine for all children over 6 months. If it is the first time your child is getting the vaccine and they are less than 9 years old it is recommended they get two flu vaccines a minimum of one month apart. The flu vaccine can be given along with other vaccines. It is safe to give the flu vaccine if your child has an egg allergy. Your child can receive the vaccine if they have mild cold symptoms.

💙 Good news for parents!

The RSV protection shot, Beyfortus (nirsevimab), will be available in our office this October. This one-time antibody treatment was very effective last season at keeping babies and young children out of the hospital during RSV season. 🙌

Who can get it?
👶 Babies born on or after April 1 and under 8 months old at the time of the shot
👧 Children up to 24 months old with certain health conditions like:
• Chronic lung disease of prematurity
• Some types of congenital heart disease
• Severe immunodeficiency
• Trisomy 21
• Cystic Fibrosis
• Neuromuscular or airway problems

We have a number of formula samples available in the office. The Similac pro-advance expires in November and we would hate for it to go to waste. Please reach out or stop in during office hours if you could use it. We do not have any patients using Alfamino at this time so if you know a non-patient family that could use it, please let us know. We only have one can of it but it’s a large size.
