Our time in Hawaii was not just a journey, it was a deep remembering and a sacred rebirth. Being ordained as a Hilot Binabaylan and renamed as Dayang Laya Gilas ᜇᜌᜅ᜔ ᜎᜌ ᜄᜒᜎᜐ᜔ 👑💫 is an honour beyond words. Every moment was filled with healing, remembrance, and magic 🌺🍃✨️
We foraged through the mountains for Earth medicine, gathering plants with reverence the way our ancestors once did. Together, with our own hands, we cracked coconuts with stones, grated them the traditional way, and created Lana Oil infused with the sacred medicines of the mountains. Each step was an offering, a prayer, and a connection back to the roots of who we are 🥥⛰️🫚
We learned the ancient magic of working with energy, discovering how lightness can be created where there was once weight. With our hands, we moved the unseen, lifting what seemed unmovable, and awakening the power within us that has always been carried through our lineage ✋🏽✨💫
We remembered the ways of our ancestors in how to diagnose and detect illness, not just in the body but in the spirit. With the tools they once used and with the magic flowing through our hands, we were guided to see, to feel, and to heal others at the deepest level 🙌🏽🌿🍃
We had the honor of demonstrating Hilot to the Filipino Consulate in Hawaii. For so long, our sacred practice was overlooked, but now it is being seen, acknowledged, and recognized in ways it never was before 🇵🇭✨
We sang together, we ate together, we danced together, and we cried together. In those moments of deep connection, we healed each other in ways words could never fully capture 🤍🥹
What began as friendships has now become family, bound not just by love, but by the sacred duty to carry forward this medicine 🌟🌎💕
This experience healed me, transformed me, and touched my children’s lives. My heart overflows with gratitude for my new family, for the magic we shared, and for the ancestors who guided us every step of the way 🙏🏽❤️
