I recently was asked why I call myself a Fat Fitness Instructor, so I thought it was important to share my thoughts.

Using the word fat is a conscious choice, one rooted in my desire to live out loud with my values and push back against racist, sexist, and outdated language that upholds weight-based discrimination.

I am confident in my body.

And I want that for you, too.

I don't want you to hide your body or fear the word 'fat' anymore.

It is my passion to work with women who are sick of trying to make themselves smaller. Which is why I offer free confidence calls as the first step. Comment APPLY below to book a free call with me.

And - let me know your thoughts on the word 'fat" in the comments below!

I spent most of my life trying to pick outfits that were "flattering" on my body (aka - that made me look as small as possible).

I was so afraid for people to see that I had a belly.

Or to see that I wore underwear.

Or the way my legs looked in shorts.

The amazing thing about doing the work of healing your relationship with your body is that clothing becomes a lot less stressful.

I'm not afraid for people to see my body and the way that it exists. I know that my worth is not dependent on my weight. It's okay for people to know that I have a belly, that I have ni***es, that I wear underwear.

I don't sit in the shame anymore, which means I get to spend my time and energy living my life. Wearing what feels good for my body and what brings me joy.

I want that for you, too and believe me babe - it is possible. I promise. 💜

You deserve to exist in your body because, my friend, your body is good.

👉️ This is exactly the work that we will be doing at my Self-Love Summer Retreat in Collingwood this June.

To make this year the year that you wear the swimsuit.
That you say YES to your life and adventures.

The summer where you see your body differently.

There are 6 spots left and only 5 weeks left to register. 💛

The correct answer?

All of the above. 🤦‍♀️

Looking back now - it's easy to say "what was I thinking???"

But the wild part? At the time, I didn't think it was extreme.
I thought I was being disciplined. Committed. Healthy.

That I was willing to do what other people weren't.
Which made me feel like I was morally superior.

That is what diet culture does - it teaches us to pursue weight loss at any cost ... Because that is what it means to be healthy.

Which is why it is so important (but also challenging) to go through the process of writing your own rules.

Rules that actually work to allow you to feel healthy, without sacrifice or restriction or extreme behaviours.

Learning how to really see and understand your body. To know what feels good for you. What actually works to help you feel your best.

Not just what is going to make you lose weight. 🙅‍♀️🙅‍♀️🙅‍♀️

That is what I help my clients do.
That is my magic. ✨

So let's shed some necessary "weight" in the comment below. Let me know what the most unhinged thing you have done in the name of "health"?

And what rules you are ready to let go of to actually love and accept your body?

And if you are ready to feel differently and take the first step, comment MY BODY, MY RULES below and I'll send you a DM. 💕

My weight has not impacted my health.

What has?

- Getting bullied
- Struggling with my family life (especially constant conflict with my parents)
- Decades of dieting and extreme behaviours to try to lose weight
- Chronic and acute stress (from experiences like grade school and owning a fitness studio during COVID)

- Trying to survive in a world that has been imploding for the last decade... where rent for a basic 2 bedroom apartment costs over $2k in a small town.

So if you actually care about someone's health... ask them what is negatively impacting their health and listen - Rather than assuming you can know anything about what is going on just by looking at their body.

And if you care about my health?

How about supporting my work? Or buying me a cup of coffee? 🤣

(Because I promise that will help me so much more than telling me I am fat lol)

Let's start a conversation below... what is something that has negatively impacted your health in your life that has had nothing to do with your weight that you wish people would actually hold space for?

I am proud to be a Fat Fitness Instructor.

I believe representation is important.
I serve women, which includes transwomen and those marginalized by the patriarchy.

I believe all food is good food. And all movement is good movement.
I believe all bodies are good bodies and deserving of respect.

I believe health and wellness is about writing your own rules - not blindly following a formula of eat less + move = weight loss that doesn't work.

I encourage my clients to value rest, just as much as they value their workouts.

I am far from a "tough love" coach... although I know how to ask the deep questions that get my clients results.

If you are my people, welcome. I'm so happy you are here.

Imagine if you got to say this - feeling pretty damn good about your body and yourself after 3 days.

Talking about how different you feel in your body…
how much quieter your mind is…
how you’re no longer overthinking every photo, outfit, or moment.

Imagine going into this summer:
👙Wearing the swimsuit without the spiral.
📷Being in the photo instead of avoiding it.
💕Laughing, moving, existing… without constantly checking how you look.

Not because your body changed - but because your relationship with it did.

Because you have yourself permission to show up and get the right support to actually make this kind of change happen.

👉 That’s the kind of shift that happens inside this retreat.

Not surface-level confidence.
Not a temporary high.
But the kind of internal shift that follows you home…
into your everyday life…
into your summer.

So when you read this testimonial and Judy's experience - I don’t just want you to think “that’s nice.”

I want you to ask yourself:
👉 what if that got to be me next?

There are only a few spots left, and only a few more weeks left to register.

If you’ve been thinking about it, this is your nudge.

It is really important to me that my posts don't feel like a highlight reel. I don't use filters or edit my appearance. I'm often not wearing makeup and I definitely don't do my hair or hire professional photographers for most of my posts.

Because I want you to see yourself in my posts.

To see your own face.
Your own wrinkles and grey hairs.
Your own rolls or lumps and bumps.

I show up online and show you exactly what it is like to live in my body, so that you feel better about yours.

This audio clip is from when I was a guest of Dr. Cristina Castignini on her Podcast, . Cristina is a real doctor who has recovered from an eating disorder and she talks about struggles with food, body image and weight.

Cristina actually reached out to me after seeing an Instagram post where I discussed how my weight and my body image impacted both my marriage and my divorce. 💔

In this podcast, I go into detail about how I realized that diet culture and fatphobia had programmed me to de-value myself as a partner and a wife due to the fact that I gained weight over the course of my relationship. And also, how I healed from this and how it impacted dating for me moving forward.

Real conversations and talking about hard things.

It is part of the magic I do as a Confidence Coach.

👀So if you struggle with your weight impacting your self-worth, especially when it comes to dating and relationships, this is a must listen podcast!

Don't just do it for you, do it for her.

The younger version of you who needed a role model, teaching her how to love her body.

Your daughter, who is watching you as she grows up.

For every woman in your life who was taught that she wasn't enough.

Do it for you... But also for all of us.

We deserve to live in a world where women live out loud and celebrate their bodies. Imagine what that could be.

Changing how you see yourself and your body, building your confidence doesn't happen by accident.

It starts with a choice. A choice to believe in what is possible and to show up for yourself (even if it feels hard to do so).

This is the kind of work that we are going to be doing at my 2026 Self-Love Summer Retreat.

After 3 days you’ll arrive home with:

💜A strong sense of body confidence, so you can stop wasting your precious time and energy worrying about how you look and instead be present for the memories you make each Summer

💜A deeper appreciation for and connection with your body, so that you are better able to listen to its needs and tune out the noise of external pressures or judgements

💜A new story and vision for your life that you can use to cultivate positive self-talk and a strong sense of self-worth

💜A rock solid support group of women with a clear understanding of how they can show up for you in your journey and a collective agreement to be your biggest hype girls.

So I beg you - make the choice. Choose to show up differently - for every version of you and the woman that you want to be.

If you struggle with motivation to exercise, it's not because you are lazy.

It's probably because you were taught to use guilt and shame to try to motivate yourself...

Which just doesn't work.

What does work?

✔️ Understanding how different kinds of movement make you feel
✔️ Giving yourself permission to play and choose movement you enjoy
✔️ Focusing on ability based goals and what your body can do, rather than what it looks like
✔️ Having a supportive community of women who are also writing their own rules when it comes to fitness and their bodies.

Which is exactly what I teach my clients - and the kind of support you get in the Loyobo Community.

Want to find out more? Book a free confidence call with me. Comment CALL ME below and I'll send a DM with the link to book!

And follow for more confident that teaches you how to embrace joyful movement instead of hating your body.

The Loyobo FIT Way of Life

There are 8 rules that guide the Loyobo FIT way of life and are reflected in everything that we do. They represent our values and ethics, but also our promise to you - our members and fitness family.

We want to do fitness differently. Here's how.

#1. We believe strength comes in all shapes & sizes.

There is no "one-size-fits-all" path to health and fitness. There is no perfect body archetype that we aim to follow. We focus on body positivity and helping you use fitness as a foundation for loving your body.
