Last week, we celebrate the incredible work of our rehabilitation teams and the life-changing services they provide every day to our residents, patients and clients. 💙
🏥 Our low-intensity and general/stroke rehabilitation programs help patients regain strength, independence, and confidence after various health events including stroke, significant falls, heart failure or motor vehicle collisions. Low-intensity and general/stroke rehabilitation are options when patients are stable enough to leave an acute care hospital but not yet strong enough to return home. In these areas, patient work with occupational therapists, physiotherapists, speech and language pathologists and therapy assistants. Rehabilitation services also help our residents in long term care, from seating assessments to maintaining or improving mobility. We have 27 rehabilitation beds and 15 to 17 low-intensity rehabilitation beds. Upon discharge, patients can access our outpatient rehabilitation programs.
🌿 Our innovative Pearson Motion Rehabilitation Garden and fully equipped therapy gym offer safe, healing spaces where patients can rebuild mobility and practice everyday tasks.
👥 We also offer outpatient rehabilitation where clients get support from occupational therapists, physiotherapists, speech and language pathologists and therapy assistants. The outpatient teams help adults, as well as children, in flexible and effective approaches to treat a variety of conditions.
👥 Our Rehabilitation in Complex Continuing Care (CCC) program to help individuals maintain or improve their functional abilities—physically, cognitively, and socially—through coordinated, interprofessional interventions. CCC refers to a specialized form of inpatient care designed for individuals with chronic, medically complex conditions who require ongoing medical management and rehabilitative support.
👏 Thank you to our dedicated staff for helping our community thrive through compassionate care.
