Some of you know the practice of walking meditation. Maybe you have attended a silent meditation retreat and used walking as a way to establish stillness in the mind. Or maybe you have walked the Camino, or some other pilgramage; perhaps bringing awareness to your steps as you walk your dog or feed the birds.

We always include a silent walk on our retreat days at Ignatius. Walking this way with others allows us to let go of the social chatter so we can be more present to our experience of moving step by step on the earth, our senses open and receptive to the natural world.

We thought this would be a wonderful way to welcome Winter and the return of the light!

Please join us this Winter Solstice December 21st, 
10am - 11am at Ignatius Jesuit Centre, Guelph

Here's what to expect:

We will meet in the parking lot next to Loyola House (direction below). Some brief instructions about walking meditation will be given and from there we will head out on a trail, together in silence. The walk will be about 30 minutes, returning to the parking lot for some hot beverage and sweets, and conversation if you wish!

Arrive Yoga will be giving a donation to Ignatius, specifically to fund their land based initiatives. There will be a collection basket if you would like to contribute to the donation, or you can visit their website here: Ignatius Jesuit Centre
