🚨Meet our responder, Ryan Zhao!

Program: 3rd year BSC Biomedical Science

Years on the team: 2

Why did you join FRT:
“I joined FRT because I wanted to do something meaningful and impactful with a team full of legends! Being part of this team means constant learning, great people, and the kind of chaos that somehow brings you closer together. Also, bonus points for the radio calls making me feel like I’m in a real-life action movie.”

Fun fact:
“I once accidentally ended up in a goated palates class and honestly, 10/10 would do it again.”

Say hello to FRT’s 1st DUAL RESPONDER POST‼️

🚨Meet our responders, Olivia & Andres! 🚨

Program:
Olivia: 3rd year Wildlife Biology & Conservation (Co-op)
Andres: 4th year Human Kinetics

Years on the team:
Both 3 years on the team

Favourite thing about being on the team:
Olivia: “I love how friendly and kind every member of FRT is and I’ve met some great people and made some really good friends on this team. Being a member of FRT and helping people on campus has really changed my perspective on life and the knowledge and experience I’ve gained is something I’ll bring with me even after I’ve graduated.”

Why I joined the team:
Andres: “When I was a 1st year student, a friend of mine needed FRT. I saw first hand the amazing work that this team does. Though I joined FRT as a means to strengthen my first aid skills, apply myself, and help around my community - I stayed because of the care, compassion, and kindness that this team has taught me, both as a responder and as a friend.”

Fun Fact:
Andres: “Though Guelph feels like home to me, I’m actually from Calgary Alberta! ⛰️”

Olivia: “I have an irregular heart rate/arrhythmia that I often use to teach/train new members of the team on what to look out for when taking someone’s pulse.”
