New Sensory Room Open at EIA
A calming retreat for airport travellers in YEG
Our team at Associated Health Systems Inc. is happy to highlight our recent project partnership with Edmonton International Airport (EIA). Our experts consulted with the Passenger Experience team at EIA to help bring their vision to life. We installed:
Interactive panels for tactile, visual and auditory engagement.
A 5-foot-wide sensory pad to provide a safe and comfortable retreat.
A soothing visual experience with a time-lapsed video display of the Northern Lights.
Colour-changing benches for relaxing seating.
In addition to our medical-grade sensory equipment, the airport installed rows of aircraft seating to help travellers familiarize themselves with in-flight experience.

"The sensory room at YEG is an immersive space designed to support passengers with sensory sensitivities, including autism, anxiety and other cognitive or neurodivergent conditions. It offers a peaceful retreat from the bustling airport environment for passengers to unwind in a calm and tranquil setting.
The sensory room, developed in collaboration with Autism Edmonton, is located post-security in the Domestic-International Departures Lounge across from Gate 49." - Flyeia.com
