Recipe of the Week: Labour Day Grilled Veggie & Halloumi Skewers

Perfect for your long weekend BBQ – quick to prep, packed with flavour, and vegetarian-friendly!

Ingredients (serves 4):
1 block halloumi cheese, cut into cubes
1 red bell pepper, cut into chunks
1 zucchini, sliced into rounds
1 red onion, cut into wedges
1 cup cherry tomatoes
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 tsp dried oregano (or Italian seasoning)
Salt & pepper to taste
Wooden or metal skewers

Instructions:
Preheat your grill (or grill pan) to medium-high heat.
In a bowl, whisk together olive oil, lemon juice, oregano, salt, and pepper.
Thread halloumi and veggies onto skewers.

Brush with marinade and grill for 8–10 minutes, turning occasionally, until veggies are tender and halloumi is golden.

Serve hot with a side of tzatziki or hummus.

✨ Tip: No grill? You can roast these on a sheet pan at 425°F (220°C) for about 20 minutes.

Light, fresh, and perfect for celebrating the last long weekend of summer! ☀️

When we picked the name for our studio, it wasn’t about a popular song—it was about creating a space where people could come and literally shake off all the 💩 from their day. That includes our instructors too.

This week I was feeling defeated, tired, and honestly frustrated. With the long weekend, bookings were slow and I was struggling with motivation… until classes started. Three back-to-back sessions later and I was reminded that movement really is medicine. My energy shifted, my mood lifted, and I felt so much better.

And then, while cleaning the bathroom, I found this little sign hidden in the mop 🧹💫 … a reminder from the universe that signs can show up in the most unexpected places.

At Shake It Off Studio, we’re here to move, to connect, to let go, and to walk out feeling lighter than when we walked in. 💜

Last week, we had the privilege of bringing the joy of Zumba to Community Living Guelph 🎶💃🕺.

It was such an incredible experience to share movement, music, and smiles together. The energy was contagious, and we are so grateful for the opportunity to connect through dance.
