🌼 Got a coughing toddler? Here’s why a little honey can help! 🍯
If your little one is 12 months or older, honey can be a safe and soothing option for cough relief. 🙌
✨ Why it’s safe:
Antioxidants, vitamins (like B), minerals (calcium, zinc).

Honey isn’t recommended for babies under 12 months because of the risk of infant botulism. But after a year honey can offer a range of benefits especially if it is a local & quality honey!
✨ Why it works:
Research shows honey can be as effective—or even better—than some OTC cough meds for calming coughs, especially at night. Sweet relief in more ways than one!
✨ How to use it:
Mix a small amount of honey into warm water or weak, chamomile tea. The warmth helps thin mucus and the honey coats the throat to ease that cough reflex.
✨ How much:
For kiddos 1 to 5 years, give ½ to 1 teaspoon (2.5–5 mL) as needed, up to a few times a day.
Always remember: If your child is having trouble breathing, fever persists, or the cough worsens, reach out to your doctor. đź’›
