Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
Lots of smiles and a little extra luck to the Village of Riverside Glen. Residents came together to celebrate with festive activities, lively games of bingo, and cheerful socials filled with laughter and conversation. Shades of green could be seen all around as friends gathered to share stories, enjoy treats, and take part in the fun.

From friendly bingo competition to time spent visiting with neighbours, the day was full of connection, joy, and plenty of St. Patrick’s Day spirit. Moments like these remind us how special it is to celebrate together and create memories with friends in our village. 🍀

Sunday we celebrate International Women’s Day by honouring the incredible women who have shaped our world past and present.

In our village, we are surrounded by strength, resilience, compassion, and wisdom every single day. Our residents carry stories of courage, leadership, family, careers, community building, and quiet acts of bravery that have paved the way for future generations.

We took time to listen, to learn, and to reflect on the wise words shared by the remarkable women who call our village home. Their advice reminds us to be kind, stand strong in who we are, support one another, and never stop learning.

To show how much we care and appreciate each of them, every resident received a flower a small gesture to honour the lasting impact they have made and continue to make in our lives.

To all the women who have led, nurtured, advocated, created, and inspired we celebrate you today and always. Your legacy lives on in the lessons you share and the love you give.

Our village was bursting with colour as we came together to celebrate Holi!

Residents and team members gathered to enjoy delicious food, refreshing drinks, and of course, the vibrant colours that make this celebration so special. We even took the celebration outside, laughter filled the air as bright powders flew, creating a beautiful rainbow of joy and connection.

Holi is a celebration of togetherness, renewal, and the triumph of light and that spirit was felt all around. It was wonderful to see residents and team members bonding, sharing smiles, and making colourful memories side by side.

A day full of fun, friendship, and bright moments we won’t soon forget!

There’s nothing quite like the joy of a furry friend 🐾

This week, we were so happy to welcome Therapy Paws Canada into Long-Term Care for some very special visits. The smiles said it all as residents enjoyed cuddles, gentle pats, and heartwarming moments with these incredible therapy dogs.

Animals have a beautiful way of sparking memories, encouraging conversation, and bringing comfort. For many, it’s a reminder of beloved pets from years past. For others, it’s simply the magic of sharing space with a loving companion.

These visits create meaningful connections, reduce stress, and fill our home with laughter and joy. We are so grateful for the paws, the volunteers, and the special moments they bring to our residents. 💛🐶

The Egerton neighborhood has been feeling extra crafty and creative lately! 🎨✂️

Residents have been working side by side, sharing supplies, ideas, and plenty of laughs along the way. What starts as a simple project quickly turns into meaningful moments helping one another, offering encouragement, and celebrating each other’s creations.

It’s always beautiful to see friendships grow through creativity. There’s something special about gathering around a table, creating with your hands, and leaving not just with a finished piece but with shared memories too.

At the Village of Riverside Glen, we have been celebrating Black History Month with meaningful moments of learning, connection, and joy.

Residents, team members, and families came together to share their cultures, traditions, and stories. From delicious homemade dishes to powerful music that filled the room, each experience gave us the opportunity to learn from one another and celebrate the rich history, resilience, and contributions of Black communities.

There was dancing, storytelling, laughter, and heartfelt conversations as we explored history and honoured the legacy of so many who have shaped our world. It was beautiful to see generations connecting, asking questions, and embracing new traditions together.

Black History Month reminds us that learning and celebrating diversity is something we can carry with us all year long. Thank you to everyone who shared their culture, food, music, and time with our community.

We were proud to welcome paramedic students through our ongoing partnership with Conestoga College

This program began three years ago after recognizing that over 80% of 911 calls involve LTC and RH residents. The goal is to help students build comfort in long-term care settings, learn person-centered approaches, and understand how to collaborate with our team to best support residents.

In our home, care is built on relationships. Students learn that supporting a resident means working together — not taking over — and leaning on the trusted connections our team has built.

We’re grateful to support the next generation of compassionate, well-rounded paramedics.
