Do you have a button jar at home that’s overflowing?
Our Knitting Club at Riverside Glen is looking for medium to large sized buttons for upcoming projects!

These buttons help our residents add the finishing touches to their handmade creations — each one made with care, creativity, and lots of love.

What we’re looking for:
• Medium to large buttons
• Any colour or style
• New or gently used

Donations can be dropped off at the Riverside Glen front desk.

Meet Once Were Sweepers, a true family band! Made up of LTC resident John Beamish, his four brothers, and their first cousins, proving that music, love, and family bonds don’t fade with time.

From growing up together to rocking out together, these guys remind us that aging doesn’t mean slowing down it means carrying a lifetime of memories, laughter, and talent with you.

Our LTC Cooking Club brought residents together from multiple neighborhoods, and it was something special! As soon as the cooking started, the air filled with delicious smells that sparked memories, stories, and lots of smiles. Residents spent time side by side, sharing laughs, helping hands, and moments of connection before sitting down to enjoy what they made together.
It wasn’t just about the food, it was about togetherness, comfort, and the joy of a shared meal.

On a wintery snow day, our LTC residents gathered for Crafty Corner Club and turned yarn into beautiful snowflakes ❄️

With hands busy and minds focused, everyone enjoyed the calm rhythm of creating, sharing conversation, and spending time together. The room was filled with quiet concentration, smiles, and a whole lot of fun as each snowflake came to life — no two the same, just like the artists who made them.

A perfect way to spend a snowy day indoors, staying warm, creative, and connected.

Our residents enjoyed a wonderful paint class with special guest Niha, spending the afternoon painting bright, beautiful tulips 🌷

With brushes in hand, the group focused on learning new techniques, exploring colour, and expressing their creativity. It was a lovely reminder that learning never stops, and there’s always room to grow, create, and try something new.

We wrapped up our Winter Olympics Week at the Village with a beautiful final day full of celebration and pride. The morning began with our figure skating event at 10:00 am, where residents showed grace, creativity, and plenty of determination, all while being cheered on by friends from every neighborhood.

The afternoon brought our Closing Ceremonies, with medals and participation awards handed out to honour not just the wins, but the teamwork, effort, and sportsmanship shown all week long. It was a joyful celebration of trying new things, supporting one another, and making lasting memories together.

We kicked off Winter Olympics Week at the Village with our Opening Ceremonies, welcoming competitors from each neighborhood as they gathered to show off their skills, cheer each other on, and celebrate some friendly competition. It’s a full week of fun, movement, and community spirit ahead.
