@ABOrthotics is recognizing the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. We commend the @UN for their efforts in “Empowering persons with disabilities and ensuring inclusiveness and equality”. Proud member of @CanadaOPC.

Since 1992, the United Nations International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD) has been annually observed on 3 December around the world. The theme for this year’s IDPD is “Empowering persons with disabilities and ensuring inclusiveness and equality”. This theme focuses on the empowering persons with disabilities for the inclusive, equitable and sustainable development envisaged in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
The 2030 Agenda, pledging to “leave no one behind,” is an ambitious plan of action of the international community towards a peaceful and prosperous world, where dignity of an individual person and equality among all is applied as the fundamental principle, cutting across the three pillars of the work of the United Nations: Development, Human Rights and Peace and Security. It is critical to ensure, in this regard, the full and equal participation of persons with disabilities in all spheres of society and create enabling environments by, for and with persons with disabilities.

How long is 23 feet ? At @ABOrthotics 23 FEET is exactly this long !!! Now what is that equation for converting feet to braces .... hmmm, oh yeah ... it is FEET x ASSESSMENT SKILL x CASTING SKILL x MODIFICATION SKILL x 30 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE + A GREAT TEAM = GREAT BRACES

Thanks KidsAbility for the recognition. We are happy to be your community partner working with such a deserving population of kids. Take note Guelph of the GREAT work done by KidsAbility in our community !!!

The Right Footwear for Your Orthotic or Brace - Applied Biomechanics Orthotics and Bracing

We often use the analogy that if you don’t wear proper footwear with your orthotic treatment, it is like putting poor quality tires on a sports car – you compromise the performance.

Our tips will help you find the right footwear for your orthotic or brace! Footwear plays a very important role in the functionality of any orthotic or brace. If the shoe is not stable,it makes it very difficult for the orthotic to provide support and puts additional pressure on the orthotic because it now has to try to stabilize itself in the shoe. Hello again to my friends, colleagues and family;

With your generous support, we helped raise a significant contribution for the AWESOME programs, therapists and kids at KidsAbility. Your efforts helped us reach our Superhero Run goal of $1,000.00. Combine that with Applied Biomechanics "Universe" Sponsorship and our corporate contributions from our June sales, our total donation to KidsAbility was over $7,000.00 !!!

Please have a read of the email below from Charmaine Brown, Senior Development Officer KidsAbility Foundation, Guelph-Wellington:

Dear Fred & Cathy,

On behalf of KidsAbility Foundation, I would like to Thank you once again for kindly sponsoring of our 4th annual Superhero Run for KidsAbility. With your support, the event raised more than $70,000 for KidsAbility Guelph, which ensures that children in our community are receiving the much needed life-changing therapy that they need.

KidsAbility could not do what it does without the generous support from our caring community. Please know that partnerships with our sponsors are vital to the success of the Superhero Run and you are truly appreciated. Thank you again for your thoughtful gift to KidsAbility and the Superhero Run.

Looking forward to seeing you soon, have a great summer!

Thanks again everyone. Please know that your contributions make a real difference in the lives of the kids and their parents that rely on the very special services of KidsAbility.

Dear Friends, Family and Colleagues;

Those of you who know me well will understand that this isn't something that I do very often ... ask for help. I am always glad to give a hand myself to those who need one but usually find a way of doing something myself if I can. Well, I have found something that I can not do all by myself and could use some help.

On June 19th, 2016, I will be participating in the 3nd annual Superhero Run for KidsAbility at Exhibition Park in Guelph. I’m thrilled to invite you to join me in supporting KidsAbility, and achieving our team fundraising goal of $1500.00. Last years goal was $500.00 but with your help I was the 2nd highest fundraiser with over $1,200.00 raised !

To show how sincere I am with this, my company, Applied Biomechanics will match dollar for dollar all funds raised up to $1,500.00. So anti up and make me pay !!! If I can get $1,500.00 in sponsorship Applied Biomechanics will match that so we can raise $3,000.00 for these kids and the programs that they need. Applied Biomechanics is already a supporter of KidsAbility and a sponsor of the Superhero Run, but I wanted to do even more to help support such a great organization.

The Superhero Run encourages families and runners alike to don their capes for a 1K run/walk or 5K timed race while raising money and awareness for KidsAbility. Since 1999, KidsAbility has been empowering children and youth with special needs in Guelph-Wellington to realize their potential. Last year, over 700 children and youth in Guelph-Wellington received life-changing therapy and support services from KidsAbility.

Please join me in demonstrating a belief that every child needs a Superhero. Here is how you can help:

1. Click on the following link:

2. Click on "GIVE NOW" and fill out your donation information.

3. Fell good knowing that you are helping kids deal with their special needs.

On behalf of those who will benefit from your generosity, thank you for your support!

Superheroes unite!

Applied Biomechanics is Proud to be a 'Universe Sponsor' of The Guelph Superhero Run for KidsAbility taking place Sunday, June 19. There's lots of fun for the whole family! After all, every child needs a superhero!
