Did #1 surprise you? These simple strategies can be game changers for patients that are struggling in the aftermath of chemo.

This is NOT instead of your supportive prescriptions - it’s alongside them.

Is the research we have perfect? Nope. But for simple interventions like progressive muscle relaxation, I’m comfortable with recommending it based on what we do have. Up next: fasting mimicking diet to manage chemotherapy side effects. Stay tuned!!

Different parts of the body have different pH (ex: stomach is LOW/very acidic) and blood is higher/more alkaline. Your body tightly regulates its pH, no matter what you eat. That means ā€œalkalineā€ foods don’t change your blood pH. In fact, the pH of your urine will increase when you consume more acidic foods as part of the mechanism to keep the blood’s pH in the ideal zone.

What they do change? The quality of your diet. More vegetables, fruits, and whole foods give your body nutrients it can use for energy, healing, and resilience.

So while you can’t ā€œalkalinizeā€ your way out of cancer, you can choose to eat foods from the alkaline lists to nourish your body through it.

šŸ§˜ā€ā™€ļø Gentle movement—like walking, stretching, or yoga—can boost your mood and circulation.
😓 Rest isn’t lazy; it’s a necessary part of healing. Your body works hard during treatment, and rest gives it the energy to recover.

Tip: Check in with yourself each day and adapt. Some days call for more movement, and others call for more stillness. Both are important!

It helps with energy, healing, and muscle maintenance—all critical during this time.

Here are some easy ways to boost your protein intake:
✨ Add protein powder to your favorite milk for a snack.
✨ Use high-protein bread or wraps for eggs or sandwiches.
✨ Keep quick proteins ready to go: think baked chicken, boiled eggs, or egg bites.

A small shift to try: Before every meal or snack, ask yourself: ā€œWhere’s the protein?ā€ You’ll feel more energized, stay full longer, and even sleep better at night. Small shifts, big impact!
