We can hardly hold in our excitement! Kyle has qualified to represent Team Ontario in tenpin bowling at the 2026 Special Olympics Ontario! 🎉

Kyle first started bowling in 2018, and what began as a fun pastime quickly grew into a true passion. Through years of practice, dedication, and joy for the game, he has earned this incredible opportunity, and we could not be prouder.

Kyle’s mom shared how proud their family feels watching him reach this milestone. She said that even though life has presented its challenges with his diagnosis of Nicolaides-Baraitser Syndrome, Kyle has never let that define him. His love for connecting with others and staying active shines through in everything he does. Bowling with Special Olympics has given him wonderful friends, the joy of teamwork, and the confidence and pride that come from doing what he loves.

It was an extra special Friday at Hopewell last week! ✨

We were delighted to welcome our Founders, John, and Joanne Oosterhuis, along with Sarah and Basil, for a visit to our new Hopewell Youth Connect location and our Ariss home.

John and Joanne’s journey to support individuals with disabilities and developmental needs began in 1983 when they opened their home to children and created meaningful opportunities for them to live, grow, and belong. 💛

More than four decades later, their vision and dedication continue to inspire everything we do at Hopewell.

JB recently turned 33 and celebrated with friends at the home, his mom, and his favourite meal, Chinese food. He even picked out his own birthday cake, something he was really excited about!

Everyone had a wonderful time, and our staff made sure to sing him a big, joyful birthday song. 💛
