CONVERSATIONS WITH AN ASTROPHYSICIST
In this video, Buddhist monk Gen Kelsang Rabten is in conversation with astrophysicist and lay Buddhist teacher Kadam Peter Kurczynski.

Their wide ranging discussion touches on the common points between science and spirituality - for example, how discoveries in quantum physics correlate to profound Buddhist teachings on the nature of reality - but also how meditation can open us to experiences completely beyond the reach of the physical sciences.

WALK FOR WORLD PEACE - WHAT IS THE ROUTE?
Our walk for world peace starts at AKBC. We meet, do a quick morning meditation, grab a t-shirt and head off through the park.

We walk along the Speed River: through Goldie Mills Park, along the GTG trail through Riverside Park.

We head over the bridge in the park and take a refreshment stop in the park at a picnic table near the picnic shelters. Some people might choose to hang out there with the refreshments and wait fo us to come back.

We head up the River and cross Woodlawn Rd and continue along the Speed River to Victoria Road. At Victoria Road we turn back down the trail. We cross Woodlawn and head down the other side of the river. Then over the bridge and back to the snacks!

From there some people prefer to stay in the park, some walk back to the centre. And some drive away! A wonderful day - 10km for the whole thing. Come along and register to walk with us and raise money for our Centre - for a permanent home in Guelph.

Our Story

Avalokiteshvara Kadampa Buddhist Centre is a member of the New Kadampa Tradition - International Kadampa Buddhist Union. We offer classes, courses, retreats, Buddhist study and prayers in downtown Guelph at 143 Wyndham St (Suite 203). Classes on modern Buddhism and meditation are designed to give us the tools to develop and maintain inner peace and happiness no matter how hectic our life may be. Even though classes are presented in the form of series, each class is self-contained and therefore can be attended individually or as a series.

We offer drop-in meditation classes every Wednesday evening at our location in downtown Guelph. These classes are open to everyone irregardless of background or previous experience. We also offer drop-in meditation classes in Kitchener (Tuesdays), and London (Thursdays). From time to time we also offer drop-in classes in Stratford and Georgetown.
