Cuts per student $1500 x 25 students is 37, 500 $ per class......wonder why school boards are in trouble! Ford may as well be saying make bricks without straw :(

Today’s announcement from Minister of Education Paul Calandra, that the Ford Conservative government is taking over more school boards, is a thinly veiled attempt to shift the blame for this government’s chronic underfunding and refusal to invest in our students.

If FordNation and Minister Calandra truly cared about students, they would stop the cuts, stop the schemes, and start working meaningfully with teachers, education workers, and parents – to invest in our students and our future.

A long weekend for our GDLC President Nicole as we had GDLC at the Multicultural Festival and Pride in the Park! GDLC were joined our own Wellington Catholic Teachers booth at Pride in the Park! Thanks to our own Diversity Committee members! In an age of Intolerance and Hate unions continue to organize for more than just union members. When some win we all win. GDLC is at the Multicultural festival this weekend. Come in out and visit our booth. Friday night we had CUPW workers join us, with Janice Folk-Dawson and Nicole Hughes Clark(President of GDLC). Multicultural festival is from the 13th to 15th.

It is clear that teachers, education unions, and community stakeholders were not at the table when writing this legislation.
