❄️Winter Operations Update❄️
This winter has brought accumulating snowfall, record ice, and extreme cold. While we’re no strangers to tough conditions, this season has been especially nerve-racking.
These conditions don’t just slow us down on the roads - they slow every part of the job. Our drivers are trekking through deep snowdrifts, trying to locate buried cisterns, fighting with frozen lids, and maneuvering heavy, wet hoses in frigid temperatures. The cold is hard on our trucks and equipment, and just as hard on our guys operating them. They are rockstars.
When conditions become unsafe, we will pull our trucks off the road. Safety always comes first. We know that’s frustrating, but we’d rather have our trucks off the road than have a truck *off the road*. That call protects our drivers, our equipment, and everyone else sharing the road.
Between severe weather, poor road conditions, and storm-related power outages (which can temporarily shut down water depots), winter deliveries can take significantly longer than usual and may, at times, mean we are running behind. Please check your water levels regularly and plan ahead.
You can help us help you by making sure laneways and access points are clearly plowed and visible. If we can’t clearly see where your laneway is - or safely access it - we can’t deliver. If you have elderly family or neighbours, help them check their levels and clear snow when possible.
We truly appreciate your patience, understanding, and cooperation as we work to get water to everyone as quickly and as safely as possible. We’ll always do our best, but winter weather brings challenges that are simply beyond anyone’s control.
Stay warm and drive safe!
