It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear father, Paul-Émile Gauthier, who left us peacefully at home on August 10, 2025, at the age of 70 surrounded by his family.

Paul was a devoted father, cherished by his children Patricia (Gino), Sandra (Mike), Emmanuel (Lisa), and Stephane (Suzanne). He treasured every moment spent with them, and they hold his memory close in their hearts. His love extended gracefully to his grandchildren—Christopher, Danica, Samuel, Ethan, Dominic, Vanessa, Isabella, Cheyanne, Kaelynn, Teanna, Austen, and Rex—and to his great-grandchildren, Malayah, Cameron, Beckham, and Greyson River, who brought him immeasurable joy. He also held a special place for his foster grandchildren, Dream and Damien, whom he loved dearly.

Paul was predeceased by his beloved wife Jacqueline (née St George), his parents, Noel Gauthier and Beatrice (née Beaudry), and his sister Yolande. He leaves behind his siblings: Pauline, Diane, Richard, Lise, Michel, Joel, and Monique, along with in-laws and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends, all of whom will carry his memory forward with admiration.

Born and raised on a dairy farm in Thornloe, Paul grew up developing a strong work ethic. Where at the remarkable age of five he could already milk five cows by hand. After farm life, he ventured into various trades throughout his life, becoming a man of many skills- whether it was mining, construction or vehicle restoration, he did it all effortlessly.

Paul met Jackie at a time when neither of them were looking for love. But love the real kind, the soul-deep kind found them anyway. They didn’t meet in some grand, cinematic moment. It was simple, quiet, honest. Jackie loved Paul’s quiet strength and genuine devotion. Paul loved, Jackie’s infectious laughter and kindness. That's where the bond was born not in perfection, but in presence.
They built a life together- One made not of grand gestures, but of deep devotion of 43 years.
There was no greater love than this. He was proud to call her “My Babydoll”.

Paul was well known for his lightning-fast reflexes, often catching flies midair with a single hand — a playful talent that never failed to bring smiles and laughter to those around him. It was one of many ways he made everyday moments unforgettable.

Paul had a lifelong love for classic cars, especially the Camaro, along with his three brothers. His pride and joy was a sleek 1969 Camaro SS, which he cherished for 40+ years. On the family farm, the brothers would gather, their cars lined up with engines growling in unison, filling the air with the scent of burnt rubber and the rumble of horsepower. Their burnouts symbolized not just their passion for cars, but also brotherhood, joy, and living in the moment.

In 1988, Paul joined Miller Paving, taking great pride in his hard work. In 2000, he fulfilled his dream by opening his own welding business, Gauthier's Welding. With meticulous skills and an unwavering work ethic, Paul continued to work independently while remaining devoted and loyal to Miller, where he dedicated 36 years. He taught his children to expand their learning and embrace life's possibilities.
Emmanuel followed in his father's footsteps, working side by side at the shop. Together, they became known simply as "The Gauthiers"
—a team who could solve any challenge. Their imagination, creativity, and innovative spirit turned the shop into a thriving success.

When he wasn’t at work, Paul loved to soak up life’s simple joys. Whether he was camping, fishing, riding his side-by-side, or taking road trips, he found joy in creating unforgettable memories, often with family and friends by his side. Sunday drives turned into mini-adventures, especially with Jackie always alongside him. His deep love for his family made every shared experience truly special. He often took photos and recorded videos to capture these memorable moments.

Paul’s legacy is a testament to his relentless work ethic, deep love, and steadfast devotion to family and friends. His incredible kindness brought light into the lives of everyone he met. His strength served as a pillar of support for many leaving a lasting impact.

This heartbreaking loss comes just nine months after we unexpectedly said goodbye to our cherished mother, Jacqueline. The weight of this farewell feels especially heavy. Still, we take solace in knowing that they are reunited once again, looking out for us with love from above.

A celebration of life will be held on August 30th 2025 from 1-4pm at 251 Shepherdson Road, New Liskeard, P0J 1P0
In honor of Paul-Émile Gauthier

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the North East Cancer Centre or we invite you to take a moment to reflect on his uplifting spirit.

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Michel Jule Joseph Beauchamps announces his peaceful passing on Monday, August 4, 2025, at the Temiskaming Hospital, at the age of 75 years.

Born on September 1, 1949, in Laniel, Quebec, Michel made his home in North Cobalt, where he shared a life filled with love, laughter, and quiet strength alongside his beloved wife, Martha—his partner of 42 wonderful years.

Michel was a devoted husband, a proud father to Nancy, David (Tamar), and Michel (Marcy), and a cherished grandfather to Talia, Maxim, Inez, Kyle, Travis, and Brandon. He is lovingly remembered by his sisters, Renée and Nicole, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Michel is predeceased by his parents, Henri and Germaine (Dumais) Beauchamps, and by his brothers, Claude and Raymond "Bee."

A hardworking man, Michel spent much of his life working in the mines. When he wasn't on the job, he could be found with a guitar in hand, a dog by his side, or out walking the trails with Martha. He loved picking blueberries, watching wrestling, and tinkering with his truck. Above all, he was a man of deep compassion—spiritual, nonjudgmental, and endlessly loving. Michel made time for his family, always showing up with a warm heart and a listening ear. His presence was gentle but strong, and his legacy will live on in the lives of those he touched.

Michel's final care has been entrusted to the Buffam Leveille Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Condolences and tributes can be shared at www.buffamleveille.com

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jennifer Lynn West (Parkin), who left this world far too soon on July 30, 2025, in Englehart, Ontario, at the age of 49.
Born on February 15, 1976, in Hamilton, Ontario, Jennifer lived a life defined by love, compassion, creativity, and light. She was a bright, joyful presence who made those around her feel truly seen and deeply loved.

Jennifer was the cherished wife of Jason West and the devoted, loving mother of Danika, Lukan, and Braelyn — the center of her universe. She was the beloved daughter of Lorne and Janice Parkin and treasured sister of Sandra Parkin(Rick) and Gods handpicked sister by heart Cathy Stratford (Anderson), Aunti to Robert, Leah and Paddy. Also left to mourn are her In-laws Arla and Wilfred West, Brother in laws Darrell and D'arcy. Missed by Jose, Melanie, Nichole, Brandon (Paige), Logan, Hunter, Gabriel, Taylor(Parth), Mackenzie (Tyler), Billie-Jean, Kendal, Tassa, Chad(Aliyah), Travis and Nicholas (July).
She was predeceased by her grandparents George and Vera Parkin, Roy and Grace Taunton, Great Uncle Norman and dear family friend "Uncle" Cam and brother-in-law Mark West. She was cherished like a granddaughter by our beloved Great Aunt Gertrud and Uncle Norman, who welcomed her into their hearts, always with warmth, laughter and unconditional love. She held a special place in their lives, just as they did hers.

Jennifer leaves behind a wide circle of family and friends who loved her deeply, including her uncles and aunts: Geordy & Diane, Dan & Marilyn, David, Shirley, Brenda, Bruce & Kay, Stephen, Iris, Chris, Dee, Kim, and Jim. Chosen Family, Aunt Susan, Marla, Rick and Sandy Horner, as well as many cousins, colleagues, and lifelong friends.

Jennifer was a woman of many gifts and lifelong seeker of knowledge. Graduate of Ancaster High and Vocational School, studied at McMaster and Guelph Universities as well as Nipissing University. A dedicated elementary school teacher, she touched the lives of countless children — not only through education but through the patience, passion, and belief she instilled in each of them. Earlier in life, she worked as a hairdresser and later as a local radio announcer — careers that reflected her natural talent for connection, conversation, and care.

Jennifer loved to sing and was happiest with a microphone in hand, sharing her joy through karaoke. Jen had the joy of becoming Ancaster Fair Queen, she was creative and whimsical and poured her heart into handmade projects, each one a reflection of her thoughtful nature. She loved completely, helped without hesitation, and wove kindness and warmth into everything she did. Her compassion made the world a better place — quietly, consistently, and with grace.
To know Jennifer was to experience joy. She was an "earth angel" whose gentle wisdom taught others to see the world through rose-coloured glasses — to look for the good, stop and smell the roses, dance in the rain, chase the Northern Lights, walk barefoot in the mud, and connect deeply with others. She radiated love and hope in every room she entered, reminding us all to embrace life with open arms and open hearts.

Jennifer's final care has been entrusted to the Buffam Leveille funeral home. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Jennifer's life will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at the Englehart Community Hall, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., with a private memorial to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Jennifer's memory may be made to the New Liskeard Bikers Reunion, to support local cancer care initiatives — a cause close to our hearts.

Though her time here was far too short, Jennifer's legacy of love, laughter, and light will continue to shine in the lives of all who were blessed to know her.
"Stay with me awhile in those sweet places we call memories. Visit my smile often. Let my light warm and fill your heart. And always remember my love lives on through you."

Huguette McChesney
1946 - 2025

With profound sadness, the family of Huguette Marie McChesney (nee Carriere) announces her passing on July 4, 2025, at Health Sciences North.

Huguette was born on June 17, 1946, in St-Emile-de-Suffolk, Quebec, to Lionel and Marcienne Carriere. She was the sixth of fourteen siblings. The family moved from Quebec to Uno Park when she was two years old.

Huguette was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Ray; her brothers, Michel and Richard; and her sisters, Denise (Roger) and Micheline (Dan). In 1965, she met the love of her life, Ray McChesney. They were married in 1969 and spent 54 loving years together. She was a compassionate, caring, and devoted mother to two boys, Derek and Jody.

Huguette spent ten years working for Northern Telephone, both as an operator and in the office. She then took time away from work to raise her family. When the boys were both in school, she began a 25-year career at the Temiskaming Hospital, first working at the switchboard, then as a secretary/receptionist in both the Laboratory and Radiology departments.

Her two sons were heavily involved in baseball and hockey. She spent countless hours travelling across the country and enjoyed every minute of it. Huguette was very outgoing and always up for an adventure. She enjoyed snowmobiling and travelled coast to coast on the back of Ray's motorcycle. Together, they toured North America in their motorhome—camping, attending NASCAR races, and taking in all the sights along the way.
She was an avid sports fan, enjoying curling, hockey, and baseball. The Toronto Maple Leafs and Toronto Blue Jays lost a superfan.
Huguette was a proud member of the New Liskeard Lioness Club.

A beautiful soul—always willing to help those in need, loving, caring, and with a smile that could light up any room. She will be deeply missed by all.
