Forest Lane Counselling offers in-person therapy in Haliburton County, Muskoka and the City of Kawartha Lakes. Virtually in Ontario.

You will find a warm and supportive approach to therapy. We see children, youth, couples, adults and families. There comes a time in everyone’s life when they may need a professional to talk to. Nicole provides a safe, confidential and empathetic space to help you work through your situations and come out feeling supported, understood, heard and valued with the skills to take on the day.

Working alongside 10 therapists across 3 office locations, this role is ideal for someone who is organized, professional, compassionate, and thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Experience working in mental health and with third-party billing is considered a strong asset.

Meet Tamica Herod, MSW, RSW, OCT ✨

With 25+ years of experience as a psychotherapist and educator, Tamica offers trauma-informed, culturally responsive therapy for individuals and couples navigating trauma, grief, loss, stress, and life transitions.

She specializes in EMDR and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy and brings extensive experience supporting neurodiversity, special education needs, and acquired brain injuries.

We wanted to share a little mindfulness moment from Forest Lane Counselling in support of the Smile Cookie Campaign 🍪 - supporting a space that’s incredibly close to our hearts: Brooksong Retreat & Cancer Support Centre here in Haliburton County.

Brooksong offers a compassionate, community-based space for individuals and families impacted by cancer - providing support groups, wellness programs, and a place to feel less alone in some of life’s hardest moments.

Supporting people is what we do and we love being able to support a cause like this right here in our community 💛

While mindfulness might not always be our strong suit (cue the bloopers 😅), we believe in showing up, being real, and finding moments of connection wherever we can.

A new space to slow down, work through what’s been feeling stuck, and start finding your way back to each other.

As an experienced couples therapist, I understand how relationships can get off track and how hard it can be to figure out what’s missing or not being heard.

✨ I’m also offering Couples Intensives (2–4 hours)
For those who want a more focused, in-depth approach without months of weekly sessions.

Forest Lane Counselling is looking for an Independent Contractor Registered Psychotherapist or Registered Social Worker to join our team in Bracebridge, Ontario.

Position Details:

• Master’s level education preferred
• Registered with CRPO or OCSWSSW
• 3-5 years of clinical experience
• Primarily in-person sessions in our Bracebridge office, with the option to offer virtual sessions
• Availability of approximately 15–20 hours per week
• Independent Contractor position

We’re looking for a clinician who values meaningful client work and enjoys being part of a supportive, collaborative group practice.

With over 15 years of experience teaching mindfulness, self-compassion, and well-being, Melanie works with youth (12+) and adults who are feeling stuck, anxious, or overwhelmed. She supports clients navigating life transitions, grief, self-doubt, and relationship challenges.

Melanie offers a warm, compassionate space and integrates mindfulness, psychodynamic therapy, neuroscience, and self-compassion to help clients build insight and resilience.
