The Dusty Halos finally performed at Deep Roots, a music festival that has been part of my life as long as I've lived in Nova Scotia. 💠
The very first night I moved to Wolfville a friend took me to the Monday night open stage at Paddy's Pub, followed by a musical house party at the Purple Palace. The next night my roommate invited me to open mic at TAN Coffee. And the same week my landlady Lisa got me on board to volunteer at the festival. I met a ton of musicians that first month that I still know today.
I grew so much as a singer, player, and songwriter largely due to the openness and warmth of the folk music scene here.
Glad I get to keep coming back. 🌊

The Dusty Halos got to play in Halifax's second oldest building, the Little Dutch Church on Brunswick Street, surrounded by hallowed souls within (an enthusiastic audience) and without (in the adjoining graveyard). Thanks for inviting us to be part of the Tiny Church Concert series!

Haunted cottagecore was the vibe last night at our Cempoal Cafe show (cozy/folksy but with skeletons 💀☕). Happy to make music again with the McMillan's Camp Boys in a really cool spot. Thanks to the cafe folks for having us, and the friends who came out to hear us harmonize!

A bit of a reunion this Wednesday: Katharine and I are playing a show with our folk friends Josh and Levon. We met the MCB in 2022 at , our very first official gig as The Dusty Halos. This will be our first show together since Katharine left Halifax. Come put some fivers in the banjo case and enjoy hot drinks and treats courtesy of our host at Cempoal Cafe! 💀 🌹 ☕

The Dusty Halos are opening for NYC country-folkstress Marley Hale next Wednesday at the Sanctuary in Dartmouth. Happy to be playing again after a bit of a rest, as we slowly but surely put together the new album. It will be a cozy candlelit show with fresh popcorn! Tix in bio.
