Our minds are designed to anticipate threat, so it’s natural to jump to worst-case scenarios. At the same time, our brains are shaped through repetition (for better or worse!). Without checking ourselves, we can unintentionally reinforce catastrophic thinking patterns.
Accuracy tends to live in the middle.
When you notice your mind spiraling, try asking:
• What’s the worst case?
• What’s the best case?
• What’s the most likely case?
Balanced thinking isn’t about forced optimism — it’s about widening the lens and practicing nuance. 🤍
