One of my goals for 2025 is to focus more on upper body strength and rep out some pull ups

Here are 3 exercises I’m working on to achieve this! Give them a try if you’re working towards a similar goal

Back to the running series! A common recommendation to decrease risk of running injury or to manage a current one, is to increase cadence or Steps Per Minute.

Increasing cadence decreases peak force in the lower limbs which can be helpful for running injuries, and can often also correct other running form concerns such as overstriding or vertical bounce.

Here are a few ways that you can increase your cadence! You can track your cadence on most fitness watches or phones.

Happy trails πŸƒπŸΌβ€β™‚οΈ

Thoracic (upper back) mobility is key for overhead shoulder movements, posture, and rib expansion. Try these two tests to see how your thoracic mobility stacks up! If you’re struggling with these a physiotherapy assessment may be helpful.

Sidelying thoracic rainbow: put a block between the knees and try to keep contact with your hand to the floor all the way overhead.

Wall angel: step your feet forward off the wall a bit and engage your core to keep your back flat to the wall. Lift the arms up to 90 degrees and then try to touch the wall with both hands.
