Mama Wellness Co Mama Wellness Co was created by Kendra Penney, a physiotherapist with training in pelvic health

I aim to empower women through combining clinical experience with research-informed education and treatments, while focusing on overall health, movement and wellness. My goal is to help you stay active during pregnancy, prepare you for labour and delivery, and get you back to all of your favorite activities postpartum. As a new mother myself, I understand the challenges first hand surrounding scheduling appointments. Instead of arranging childcare, or timing out feedings and naps, allow Mama Wellness Co to provide your treatment in the comfort and privacy of your own home. As we head into fall, clinic hours have been updated and booking is now live!

With that being said, as always, some concerns just can’t wait. Like clogged ducts or mastitis, infant physiotherapy, or pregnancy-related pain. For these time sensitive appointments, I always do my best to fit you in quickly (and have even been known to open up hours on “closed days” when needed 🤍)

During World Breastfeeding Week, I’ve been reflecting on the kinds of support families often need during the feeding journey. Over the past five years, that’s included helping moms manage clogged ducts and mastitis, and more recently, working with babies experiencing oral motor challenges and tension, making sure both parent and baby get the care they need.

A gentle reminder as this week comes to a close: breastfeeding doesn’t look the same for everyone, and if this week has felt heavy for you, you’re not alone.

To the mom who nurses around the clock.
Who exclusively pumps.
Who supplements with formula.
Who donates milk.
Who wanted to breastfeed but couldn’t.
Who chose not to from the start.
Who stopped for her mental health.
Who is still processing what she hoped this would look like.
Who has ever felt pressure to feed a certain way.

Your experience is valid.

Feeding isn’t one size fits all, and there’s no “right” way to do it.

Over the past month, I’ve been quietly supporting families by offering infant physiotherapy, and I’m so excited to officially share this service with you.⁠

Your baby’s early months are full of big changes, and sometimes a little extra support goes a long way. Whether your little one is having challenges with feeding, tummy time, head shape, or movement, gentle bodywork can make a world of difference.⁠

At Mama Wellness Co., we use hands on techniques to release tension in the neck, jaw, and oral muscles, support motor milestones, and encourage more ease with feeding and play.⁠

This offering is incredibly close to my heart. Both of my boys went through infant bodywork before and after their frenectomy releases, and I saw firsthand how much it supported their wellness (and mine).⁠

Because at the end of the day, Mama Wellness is the mission, but a mother’s wellness so often begins with her baby’s 🤍

Today marks three years since Mama Wellness Co. came to life.

Grateful for the moms and families who have trusted me to support them through pregnancy, postpartum, breastfeeding, and beyond.
Grateful for this work that lights me up.
Grateful for the ability to do it in a way that still gives me time to be present with my boys while they’re so little.
Grateful to help create community through my Baby & Me Physio Yoga series. It’s been so special watching friendships form and confidence grow week after week.
And so grateful for the colleagues, friends, and family who continue to support this little venture of mine. I wouldn’t be able to do it without you!

What does a real Baby & Me Physio Yoga class look like?

It looks like lots (and lots) of feeding.
Babies babbling, napping, or having a full-on meltdown.
And mom’s adjusting, flowing, laughing, and connecting through it all.

Just last week, we spotted some impressive moments:
- Nursing in forward fold
- Bottle feeding mid-locust pose
- Holding baby while navigating some seriously tricky transitions and warrior sequences
- Mamas showing up for themselves and adding a little more movement, strength, and confidence

Last week was chaos for me (IYKYK).

Here are 5 things I focused on to support my nervous system and feel like myself again:

Deep diaphragmatic breathing: Slow, intentional breaths helped calm my stress response and ease tension.

Gentle movement: I modified my workouts to include walking, yoga, and light stretching—movements that feel good without adding stress.

Getting outside: Fresh air and natural light worked wonders for resetting my nervous system. Bonus: my kids are 10x happier outside, which makes my life so much easier.

Heat therapy: A warm bath, heating pad, or hot water bottle are all great options.

Prioritizing sleep: I leaned into my bedtime routine and aimed for 7-9 hours of rest to recharge my system.
