We're gonna need a moment.... 😭

The municipality regrets to advise residents that the 45th Clam Harbour Beach Sandcastle Competition has been cancelled. The event was scheduled to take place on Sunday, Aug. 24, 2025.

Residents’ safety is the municipality’s top priority. This annual event typically attracts around 10,000 people to a rural area of the municipality, accessible by a single lane road (which cars park along). Municipal staff have determined that, with continued dry conditions and no immediate rain in the forecast, the risk is too high to safely move forward with the event.

Clam Harbour Beach is located within Clam Harbour Provincial Park. While the beach remains open to the public, the surrounding wooded park area is closed in accordance with the province’s restrictions on travel and activities in the woods.

HRM Rec is there, their bike shop is OPEN to help you with your bike, you can hang out as much or as little in the sun or inside and (and!) they have FOOD! That's just scratching the surface of what you can do today - yes - we love them, and - yes - we are trying to help them have a good day so head on down to Ship Harbour - it doesn't take as long to get there as you think, and the drive is epic, along the Foodie Trail, AKA Marine Drive.

Our dogs are this chill after enjoying Shady Maple Raw for breakfast. Ha! Haaaaahahaha as if our dogs would ever be this well behaved! But there is truth in this post - the dogs love it and our freezer is restocked - beef, pork, tripe and a wee bit of lamb.
