arthritic patient, those suffering from ligament deficiencies such as ACL and meniscal tears and individuals who have recently undergone orthopedic surgery. Our scope of service includes products for arthritis which include osteoarthritis knee braces that provide stability for the unstable knee due to the progression of arthritis, ankle braces that provide functional stability and back bracing. In order to serve the patient in a professional manner, we provide individual one-on-one prearranged appointments. Our staff have extensive training in anatomy and physiology, kinesiology and orthopedic bracing. To make the process run as smoothly as possible we offer direct billing and preparation of quotes for insurance companies and other 3rd party billings, on site. In addition staff will contact your insurance company to clarify your individual coverage

Hear all about Kate’s ACL recovery journey.

Kate suffered a fall on the ski hill last winter. She heard a pop, and when she tried to stand, it felt as though her lower leg had shifted, and she couldn’t support herself.

The next day, she saw Dr. Jacquelyn Corkum and our Bracing Specialist team at our Downtown Halifax clinic, where she was assessed and fitted with:
➡️ A Custom Dynamic ACL Knee Brace
➡️ Crutches
➡️ A WAVE Cold and Compression Therapy Device

She was also sent for an urgent x-ray and MRI to confirm the diagnosis of a complete ACL tear.

While waiting for surgery, Kate stayed active with strengthening exercises and wore her brace to maintain mobility throughout her busy life as a working mom of two.

She used her WAVE Cold and Compression therapy device multiple times a day to:
✅ Control swelling
✅ Manage pain
✅ Keep her recovery on track

After surgery, the nurses immediately applied Kate’s WAVE device post-operatively alongside her knee splint. Thanks to the powerful combo of cold and compression, she was able to limit her use of narcotics in the early recovery phase.

Within two weeks, she transitioned out of her splint and back into her custom dynamic ACL knee brace and continued to use the WAVE Cold and Compression therapy every evening to support her healing.

One year post-op? Kate is back to full activity!

How We Operate

In order to serve each patient in a professional manner, we provide individual one-on-one prearranged appointments. Our staff, which includes many healthcare professionals, has extensive training in anatomy and physiology, kinesiology and orthopedic bracing. To make the process run as smoothly as possible for our patients, we offer direct billing and preparation of quotes for insurance companies and other 3rd party billing companies directly on site. In addition, staff will contact your insurance company to clarify your individual coverage.

Our Advanced Orthotic and Pedorthist Lab

Our Advanced Orthotic and Pedorthist Lab is now open in downtown Halifax! This lab provides private access to services such as building, reforming, and modifying custom orthotics and footwear - directly in house! Patients have access to specialists including pedorthists, podiatrists, bracing specialists, physiotherapists, massage therapists, and physicians.
