Hello friends 👋🏻

I know it’s been awhile since we consistently posted on the socials… 🫢😳 but I promise, it’s been for a good reason.

We have been cooking up a few BIG things behind the scenes that we are finally able to share!

The first is:

✨ Caring Connections ✨ A new mental wellness program by Glanbrook Community Services in partnership with Fields & Flour Therapy 🌸

WHAT IS IT?❓

We’re offering creative, trauma-informed counselling and support for seniors, families, youth, and caregivers- right here in our community, and at a reduced cost!

From baking therapy, and walk & talk sessions to youth groups and senior socials, we’re making mental health support feel approachable 💕

WHO is it for?

- For ages 12+
- Serving the Greater Glanbrook Area
- Subsidized sessions starting at just $10 a session
- Workshops, counselling, drop-ins & more!

How does this relate to the BAKESHOP? 🍪

As you may already know, our non profit Bakeshop is a permanent fundraiser for our low cost program.

(FUN fact- we are reaching a very celebratory milestone in this program soon 👀)

So this new collaboration allows our Bakeshop funds to focus on children and youth under age 12, while Caring Connections assists our vision to provide low cost, accessible and local counselling services for ages 12+ ♥️

Let’s end the stigma- healing can feel like home 🏡

A recipe from Brittany ♥️

Here is her story:

This is my mom’s cinnamon bun recipe and I love it this time of year because there was a tradition that always accompanied it growing up — we’d watch the movie, A Christmas Carol (1951), as a family on Christmas Eve while my mother was baking our favourite Christmas morning treat. 🎄 ♥️

✨ Cinnamon Buns ✨- Brittany’s family recipe

12-16 frozen dough balls
(Found at Sobeys Bakery Counter) Ask for frozen white dinner rolls

1 1/2 cups of brown sugar
1/4 cup of Vanilla Instant Pudding
3 Tablespoons of cinnamon
1/2-3/4 cups of melted butter

Nuts or raisins optional
1/4-1/2 cup
Grease a 12” bundt pan, add dough balls,
Single layer an then second layer in between
Sprinkle with brown sugar, pudding, cinnamon & nuts/raisins.
Pour melted butter over all.

Cover with a damp cloth.
LEAVE AT ROOM TEMPERATURE OVERNIGHT......

In the morning preheat oven at 360 degrees
brush top of buns with cream or milk to prevent burning the tops
an bake for 20-35 minutes, depending on how hot an oven you use.

Let stand for 10-15 minutes before turning onto a serving platter....
ENJOY.....

Looking for a way to have fun and celebrate the holiday season AND make a real difference?

🎄 HOLIDAY FESTIVAL 🎄 event on Friday December 6th from 6 pm to 9 pm where you can:

• shop
• decorate cookies
• make your own gifts/bracelets/pens
• take pictures in holiday themed sets
• and enjoy a free hot chocolate on us!

Door prizes also will be given out… plus we will have new fun products from the following vendors in the store!

We will be closed in our shop all week to prep for this event and will be open FRIDAY DEC 6th at 6 pm - 9 pm!

Come and visit us and help boost our low cost counselling fund before the end of the year!

Grief Group is happening again tonight! Good Grief is a monthly drop in for folks looking for a space to be with others in their grief.

Led by Caroline Schmid, RSW this group will have topics each month - ranging from talking about your grief, rituals and memories and finding meaning and purpose. Register online, this donation only group raises money for our low cost counselling fund.

🎅🏼 Santa Claus is coming to town ONE WEEK from today on November 16 for the Hamilton Santa Claus Parade! 🎅🏼

Best of all, to celebrate- the team invited us to lead a cookie decorating station 🍪 inside the mall from 12 noon to 1:30 pm, and again from 4:30 to 6 pm outside the Lindt store /Second Cup area of the mall.

Plus it’s FREE to participants!

Bring the kids, have fun decorating the kits we’ve prepared and start your holiday celebration off right ♥️
