You're not alone. Millions of people suffer from seasonal allergies, which can make for a tough time of year. But with a little know-how and preparation, you can make it through allergy season without enduring too much misery.
Wash Your Hands: Believe it or not, your hands can carry pollen or any other allergens from your neighbor's yard into your own home. The best way to prevent this is to wash them with soap and water before going into the house. And make sure you do so often: If you don't, those allergens can build up over time, becoming a big source of problems.
Wear a Mask: Many pollens are small enough to get around your nose, so wearing a mask is just one way of protecting yourself. Wearing a mask can also help reduce your symptoms by keeping bothersome allergens outside of your nose, and it will also protect those around you from inhaling those same allergens.
Stay Indoors: Research has shown that having your windows closed and/or keeping plants inside increases the chances of pollens staying outside. Opening windows a little bit also helps.
