Over the past year, NursesWeCare has had the privilege of supporting community health through wellness initiatives and occupational health services.

We are grateful to have provided wellness support to more than 200 individuals and conducted over 300 respirator fit tests to promote workplace safety and infection prevention, and respiratory protection for healthcare professionals and healthcare students.

NursesWeCare remains committed to advancing occupational health education, respiratory protection, and community wellness in the years ahead.

NursesWeCare was founded in 2022 and will proudly celebrate its 4th birthday this year on April 5, 2026. The week of April 5-11, 2026 we also celebrate Occupational Health Nurse Week. Now what does an occupational health nurse do?
There are many different ways that workers’ health can be impacted by the workplace; occupational health nurses seek to provide care and health promotion programs to support workers in improving their health (World Health Organization, 2026). They also work to prevent injuries and illnesses from occurring, as well as helping to manage workplace health conditions with the other members of the occupational health team.

This Occupational Health Nursing Week, we celebrate the history, impact, and leadership of Occupational Health Nurses.

Occupational Health Nursing has evolved over decades, from early industrial health efforts focused on workplace injuries to a specialized field dedicated to prevention, safety, and worker well-being.

Today, Occupational Health Nurses play a vital role in:
• Protecting workers from occupational hazards
• Supporting respiratory protection and infection prevention
• Promoting health, safety, and wellness in the workplace
• Legal and regulatory compliance
• Guiding organizations in creating safer environments

As workplace health challenges continue to evolve, the role of Occupational Health Nurses becomes even more essential.

At NursesWeCare, we are committed to supporting this field through professional education, including respirator fit testing and RN Train-the-Trainer programs.

We recognize the dedication, expertise, and leadership of Occupational Health Nurses across all sectors.

NursesWeCare Clinical Pearls From Nursing Practice
Why does your pulse tell us more than just your heart rate?
--Evidence-based Insight: A bounding (strong, forceful) pulse may signal anemia, fever, or sepsis. It warrants further investigation by a health care professional.
--Bounding pulse - is an important finding during physical examination, which can provide clues about a patient's health.

At NursesWeCare, our services extend beyond the test – we assess, care, and educate. 💙
