Keaton’s House-Paul Paletta Children’s Hospice was recently highlighted at Queen’s Park as part of ongoing conversations around pediatric hospice care.

At the heart of this work is a simple goal - ensuring families have access to compassionate care, support and space to be together, close to home.

We’re grateful for the Shaw family’s pledge of support, which will help bring the Nancy Rose Memorial Garden to life - a peaceful space for families to gather and create meaningful moments together.

Today is Child and Youth Mental Health Day.

Children’s grief is part of children’s mental health. In Canada, 1 in 14 children will experience the death of a parent or sibling who lives in their home (Source: Grieving Children Canada).

For children and youth, grief support means having honest, age-appropriate conversations, safe spaces to ask questions and opportunities to remember and stay connected to the people they love.

Through Kemp Care Network’s children’s grief programs, including Camp Keaton, children, youth and families are supported with compassion, companionship and connection.

As we look ahead to Keaton’s House - Paul Paletta Children’s Hospice, this same commitment guides what we are building: a place where children and families facing serious illness, end of life, and grief can feel supported, included and less alone.

Because no child should have to grieve alone.
