Emotions have a way of showing up at the most inconvenient times—like in the middle of the show ring or during a lesson. 😅

This sport comes with intensity: pressure, passion, nerves, frustration, joy. It’s a lot. And as riders, we’re not just managing our own experience—we’re also thinking, problem-solving, and supporting our horse in real time.

That’s why emotional control matters. Not by pushing feelings down, but by learning how to hold space for them. 🧠💬

In the moment, try this:
✨ Take a deep breath
✨ Soften your muscles
✨ Name the emotion you're feeling

These small steps can help you reset and stay present for the ride.

Visualization is a powerful mental skill used by athletes across all sports—including riders. 🧠🐎

By mentally rehearsing each step before performing, athletes train their minds and bodies to execute skills smoothly and confidently.

For riders, this means vividly imagining:
✅ Sitting tall and balanced
✅ Shoulders relaxed
✅ Core engaged
✅ Hands soft and steady
✅ Eyes focused on the goal

This mental practice reduces anxiety, sharpens focus, and builds muscle memory—so you can perform your best under pressure.
