🏃♂️💥 Osgood-Schlatter Disease: a common cause of knee pain in growing kids and teens!
It happens when the tendon from the kneecap pulls on the growth plate at the top of the shin bone 🦵usually during growth spurts and with lots of running, jumping, or sports like soccer ⚽, basketball 🏀, or dance 💃
👀 Signs to watch for:
🔹 Pain or swelling just below the kneecap
🔹 Tender bump on the shin bone
🔹 Pain with activity that improves with rest
💡 How physio can help:
✅ Reduce pain and inflammation
✅ Improve flexibility in tight quads & hamstrings
✅ Strengthen surrounding muscles for support
✅ Modify activities while your child heals
✅ Prevent flare-ups during growth spurts
If your child is limping, wincing during sports, or avoiding stairs… it might be time for physio! 💪💙
