Join labour and community members at the June 1st Rally in the forecourt of Hamilton City Hall for the Injured Worker's Day Rally from 11am-1pm

June 1st is Injured Workers Day! Join us outside City Hall from 11-1 to hear from injured workers and advocates on what's at stake, add your handprint to a collective banner in solidarity, and connect with others over warm drinks and food. Now more than ever, we need to stand together in solidarity with injured workers and push back against punitive changes to compensation that disproportionately affect the most vulnerable and subject permanently disabled workers to ongoing surveillance.

Drop us a comment if you plan to attend, and share widely!

🚨 Urgent update from HDIWG 🚨

The WSIB has announced it will terminate all Injured Worker Outreach Service (IWOS) contracts effective June 30, 2026, with no explanation provided.

This funding cut puts HDIWG and the services injured workers rely on at immediate risk. In just two months, we stand to lose 100% of our core funding.

HDIWG has supported injured workers in Hamilton for over 40 years, and we intend to continue this work. We are actively exploring all options, including public advocacy and alternative funding.

We need your support.

To stay informed and help defend these services, please sign up below. We will share updates and ways to get involved.

On Red Dress Day, we wear red to demand: No More Stolen Sisters.

Gender-based violence is a systemic crisis that disproportionately impacts Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit People.

Today, and every day, we honour those we have lost and are missing and we demand accountability and action for prevention and protection.
