Today is equal pay day. On average a woman has to work until April 14th of 2026 to earn what men earn on average for 2025. If you're disabled, LGBTQIA+, Indigenous or a worker of colour the gap is even wider.

Unifor Local 5555 delegates attended the 2026 Unifor Skilled Trades and New Technology Conference this past February 10-12, 2026 hosted by the Unifor National Skilled Trades Council. Delegates included Unifor Local 5555 Skilled Trades Representatives, Joshua Keene and Jeff Gauthier as well as Joseph King and Vice President, Sarah-Kai Antanaitis. The highlights of the conference were the resolutions adopted by the delegation as well as excellent presentations on A.I., apprenticeships, and up-to-date research by Unifor National. It was an informative few days.
