What is cervicogenic dizziness? 👀

Simply put, it is dizziness originating from the neck. Neck structures are closely connected to other systems that provide information about where your head and body are in space. When this isn't working properly abnormal input can result in aggravating symptoms. ⚡

Dizziness in general can also lead to increased guarding of the neck leading to stiffness, pain or even more dizziness! Research shows that incorporating cervical spine treatment can lead to reduced dizziness symptoms. 🧠

Update: Safe Chiropractic Services Are Back!

Thanks to the progress we have made in Ontario, chiropractic services are back with some small changes.

Although we have been closed for general practice since March 17th, we have continued with emergency and urgent care treatments while maintaining a safe environment for our patients in need.

Those of you who have been patiently waiting can now book your appointments for our safe reopening which begins Tuesday June 9, 2020.

The experience we have gained in the past two and a half months of working under these new conditions have given us the confidence that you can now book your appointments.

If you had an appointment cancelled due to the state of emergency, we will contact you in the coming days.

New clinic hours for Dr. Kelly Burchall:
Monday 10:00 am to 5:00 pm
Tuesday 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm
Wednesday 10:00 am to 5:00 pm
Thursday 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm
Friday 9:00 am to 1:00 pm

New Easy to Follow Safety Procedures
1) Potential patients will be screened by phone for a history of travel and symptoms of COVID-19. If there is a concern, you will be asked to reschedule your appointment.
2) We are closing our waiting room to help with physical distancing. You must wait until your scheduled appointment time before entering the building.
3) All patients are required to wash their hands upon arrival.
4) All patients are required to wear a face mask during their appointment. Please bring your own community face mask. Otherwise a surgical face mask will be provided.

Great News! The Ministry of Health recently announced that, after approximately 2.5 months in which health professionals were limited to providing urgent/emergency and telehealth services only to patients, it has amended Directive #2 to allow for all deferred and non-essential and elective services to be carried out by Health Care Providers!

Our office is doing our part to flatten the curve. We have willingly and dutifully observed public health and regulatory college directives and closed our clinic at great cost both personally and professionally. Despite the hardships, the most important thing right now is for everyone to stay healthy.

Personally, I'm still very much healthy, my family is still healthy and in good spirits, and with our daily practice of continued cleanliness and vigilance, we plan on staying that way.

However, our clinic will remain closed at this time until further notice.

Once we reopen all protocols regarding COVID-19 screening and disinfecting will continue to ensure our patients, practitioners, and surrounding community remain healthy and safe.

Remember to stay hydrated, wash your hands— and avoid touching your face.

With growing community concern around the COVID-19 virus we are reaching out to assure our patients that we are striving to maintain top health standards.

We will all need to work together to ensure our patients, practitioners, and surrounding community remain healthy and safe.

What we are doing:

As a clinic, we are keeping educated and up-to-date with the latest COVID-19 https://www.canada.ca/en/public-health/services/diseases/2019-novel-coronavirus-infection/being-prepared.html .
We have sanitizing hand rub dispensers at the front reception, washrooms and at the treatment rooms.
We are continuing our regular practice of cleaning treatment room surfaces thoroughly in between patients with disinfecting products designated for health care facilities.

If you are sick please contact us to discuss cancelling your appointment. There will be no charge to you for short notice cancellations due to illness or for unattended appointments where the COVID-19 symptoms are present.
