Vicky’s journey started when she noticed that certain foods were affecting her toddler’s behaviour. Through that experience, she discovered it is not trendy “diets” that bring health, but a solid foundation in nutrition which establishes a structure for lasting healthy results. Vicky is a Registered Holistic Nutritionist, and owns a supplement store and clinic through which she operates her nutrition practice. She works with individuals to guide them on their health journey, and teaches them how and why nutritious foods will benefit them directly. Over the years, Vicky has provided many services such as personal consultations, and hosting various talks and workshops. She is very excited about her new program “Memory Method Program”. It is for any stage of life, and she will focus on how diet can affect brain health and mobility. www.vickyhachey.com

The Silent Exodus We’re Not Talking About

Studies continue to show a staggering trend: menopause is quietly pushing talented, experienced women out of the workforce.

For many women, this stage of life brings a trifecta of pressure
👉 Careers that are accelerating and demanding more than ever
👉 Growing caregiving responsibilities at home
👉 Health transitions—like menopause—that are often misunderstood, minimized, or unmanaged

An overwhelming 95% of women experience an average of seven menopause-related symptoms, such as brain fog, fatigue, sleep disruption, and anxiety. More than half (57%) say these symptoms moderately or severely impact their work performance.

This is why taking early steps matters.

By supporting women before symptoms become overwhelming, we can help prevent being blindsided by menopause.

Early awareness and proactive care allows women to better manage day-to-day demands, caring for themselves, supporting their families, and continuing to build their careers with confidence and clarity.

This silent exodus doesn’t just affect women personally—it costs organizations deeply.

✔️ We lose leadership.
✔️ We lose institutional knowledge.
✔️ We lose wisdom, perspective, and innovation.

Here’s the encouraging part, this is preventable.

Hormonal shifts during midlife directly affect cognition, focus, memory, emotional regulation, and resilience. With open conversations, early intervention, and supportive frameworks in place, women don’t have to choose between their health and their careers.

When we prioritize our overall health early, through nutrition, lifestyle support, stress regulation, and education, women are far less likely to be blindsided by symptoms. They’re better equipped to manage their day-to-day, care for themselves and their families, and continue building their careers with clarity and confidence.

Supporting women’s health isn't “nice to have.”
It’s foundational to retention, leadership longevity, and wellbeing.

Don't be blindsided by menopausal symptoms.

The holidays are meant to be enjoyed. Shared meals, traditions, and a few indulgences are part of the joy of Christmas.
At the same time, remembering to nourish your brain helps keep energy, memory, focus, and mood steady through the festivities.

Foods like blueberries, salmon (omega-3s), olive oil, almonds, lean proteins, and green tea or matcha support cognitive health by reducing inflammation and fueling your brain cells.

✨ Enjoy the treats.
✨ Savour the celebrations.
✨ Just don’t over-indulge—balance is brain-friendly.

Your brain doesn’t need perfection this season—just a little mindful support. 💕

✔️ As we continue to celebrate the holiday season, remember that brain health is built in everyday moments.

A simple evening walk surrounded by Christmas lights. Moments like this gently nourish the brain—movement, fresh air, visual stimulation, and a pause from the noise.

Brain health isn’t built only in big interventions.

It’s supported in small, intentional moments of presence, connection, and slowing down.

This season, let the lights remind you: caring for your cognition can be beautifully simple. 🎄

✔️ Walking increases blood flow to the brain.
✔️ Exposure to new sights and environments strengthens cognitive flexibility.
✔️ Calm, low-stress moments support memory, focus, and emotional regulation.
✔️ Brain health is built in everyday experiences—especially the simple ones we often overlook.

Think of your brain health like a garden; it does not require massive, sudden overhauls to flourish, but rather the consistent, gentle care of small daily habits to keep it vibrant and growing.

Feel free to share and care this post.

Ozempic (semaglutide) has received more public attention than almost any medication in recent years. As a GLP-1 receptor agonist, it works by increasing satiety, reducing cravings, and supporting insulin release to help manage blood sugar.

While this medication absolutely has its place, I’m increasingly concerned when I see people not just losing weight — but also losing muscle mass.
And as we age, rebuilding muscle becomes significantly harder. Muscle isn’t just “strength”; it’s metabolic health, mobility, longevity, and even cognitive resilience.

I’m also mindful that we don’t yet have clarity on the long-term effects of GLP-1 medications. Much of that won’t be known for another 10–15 years.

Yes — weight loss is a desirable side effect.
But it’s not the only way to support blood sugar, metabolic health, and long-term wellbeing.

There are other options that are more accessible and cost-effective for many people. One of them is berberine, a plant compound found in barberry and other botanicals.

Emerging research suggests berberine may support gut lining integrity, assist with healthy blood sugar regulation, and help reduce unwanted fat accumulation in the liver.

A small pilot study at Boston University even explored the combination of berberine with vitamin D3 and K2, showing potential benefits for bone health in postmenopausal women.

While supplements are not replacements for medications and should always be discussed with a healthcare professional, it’s important for women — especially in midlife — to know that they have options, and that supporting metabolic health doesn’t have to come at the cost of losing muscle.

Education empowers better decisions.
And better decisions support long-term health.

Are Your Food Habits Helping or Hurting You?
Recognizing the Subtle Ways We Self-Sabotage in Midlife

For many women in midlife, the challenge isn’t a lack of knowledge — it’s the quiet, automatic habits that chip away at our health, energy, and mental clarity.

We often know what nourishes us, yet stress, busy schedules, and old patterns can pull us toward choices that leave us feeling foggy, fatigued, or out of balance. These aren’t failures — they’re information.

Common forms of nutritional self-sabotage in midlife:
🔹 Skipping meals because you’re “too busy,” leading to blood sugar swings, mood dips, and brain fog.
🔹 Leaning on quick fixes — caffeine, sugar, convenience foods — instead of steady, nutrient-dense options.
🔹 Ignoring hunger and fullness cues, especially during hormonal transitions.
🔹 Under-fueling when the focus is still on shrinking instead of strengthening.
🔹 Missing protein, healthy fats, and micronutrients essential for memory, focus, and stress regulation.

Midlife isn’t a time to restrict — it’s a time to rebuild.

Nutrition becomes a foundation for:
✔️ Sharper thinking
✔️ Steadier energy
✔️ Stronger bones
✔️ Balanced hormones
✔️ A more resilient brain

The moment we notice which habits aren’t serving us, we gain the power to shift them — and small shifts can create big changes.

If you support women in midlife — or you are one — here’s your reminder:
Fueling your brain is one of the greatest investments you can make in your future self.

Don't let the season overwhelm you.

Between extra commitments, busier schedules, and emotional overload, your nervous system is doing a lot right now.

One simple support that cam make a big difference?

B vitamins play a key role in:

💛 Reducing stress and overwhelm
⚡ Supporting steady energy (goodbye crash!)
🧠 Enhancing mood + focus
🔥 Helping your body manage increased demands

During the Christmas season—when you’re stretched thin—your body uses these nutrients even faster. Replenishing them helps you stay grounded, energized, and emotionally balanced.

Take care of you this season.

A little daily nourishment can go a long way.

Movement boosts your brain health 🧠, supports balanced hormones, protects bones, increases blood flow, and keeps your mood steady.

You're not exercising to loose yourself.

You're moving to become more of yourself.

Because in midlife, fitness is no longer about weight loss.

Its about staying powerful for decades ahead.

Most women don’t struggle because they “lack willpower.” They struggle because old habits quietly run the show.

Mindless snacking, skipping protein, evening sugar cravings—these patterns sabotage your energy, mood, and blood sugar.

When you learn to notice them, you can finally change them.

Start paying attention to those self-sabotaging habits that continue to hold you back from the vitality you are longing for.
