HAPPENING TODAY: One of my favourite winter fundraisers for one of my favourite causes!! SOUPFEST is the major annual fundraiser for the non-profit " Living Rock Ministries," which has been supporting vulnerable Hamilton youth since 1985. Funds raised are invaluable to helping with programs, services, and resources that help youth develop a personal vision for their lives, offering safety, belonging and a bridge to the community. So, Soupfest, is both super-fun to enjoy on a winter's day and supporting something very worthwhile.

Just $20, covers FOUR 4oz bowls of yummy, hot, soup as you choose from a wide array of delicious options, generously donated by local chefs and restaurants - another example of our inspiring community - thank you, local vendors!! And you know the soup is going to be fantastic when the event also includes local competitions for the Best Soup, Most Creative Soup, and Heart Smart Soup, as well as a Best Display contest.

Be part of this cherished 30-plus-year annual Hamilton tradition and help Living Rock build a stronger future for Hamilton youth who are facing homelessness, poverty, mental health challenges, and more. Money raised also supports resources like job training, mentorship, and life skills workshops.

I was deeply honoured to be in the company of this fine regiment and fellow guests last night at Carmen’s, as The Hochwald Ball Committee hosted a celebration of the 81st Anniversary of Allied Victory at the Hochwald Gap.

The Hochwald Ball is a vibrant celebration of the Argyll Regimental Family - a night to honour their storied history, sharing in the spirit of Highland Traditions, and strengthen the bonds that unite this close-knit group in an atmosphere of pride, camaraderie, and lively festivities. This elegant gala blended beloved heritage and remembrance with heartfelt connection. What a special evening!
