Oh hey there!

It's been quite a minute since I've been active.

Wanted to share my last surrogate birth with y'all.

I don’t talk about it often, but I’ve been a surrogate three times. My last journey ended in October 2024. I’m incredibly grateful that I was able to document the birth—well, my birth support person took the photos. Below is my perspective on the birth.

The act of increasing my prices on such a creative but still quite technical craft is scary. Even after the echoes of many saying I need to be charging more, the little monsters that hold so many of us back still yell quite loudly, where I keep delaying a price increase because “what if I’m not truly worth it. What if I have unhappy clients….what if what if what if……. And on the flip side, I know if I keep charging what I charge, it affects the ability of all photographers validating their prices and their increases. (If that makes sense)

So please note, this decision does not come lightly. And again, thank you for being here and supporting the continued growth.

My current rates have been quite modest as I learn my camera and the style of photography I want to pursue. Even a quick glimpse into my feed show an array of editing styles. I am learning that I love three (ok maybe 4) looks…….filmy, true to life, And a bolder, punchier colour and of course, I’m a sucker for black and white.

Back to the pricing, as of July 1, I will be raising my prices for all new clients to better reflect my growth.

If you book a session with me before July 1 (date of session can be later than the first) or have ever been in-front of my camera as a client, you will continue to have access to my current rates for the foreseeable future as a thank you for supporting my growth.

Current pricing:

Serenity in Motherhood (one parent with their little ones) 〰️ $75/15 images - 30 minutes in-home

Family lifestyle
〰️$150/90min in-home

Small business branding
〰️$150/60 min (studio fee extra)

Events (not including weddings)
〰️$150/up to 2hrs coverage

Hiya folks!

A quick update for those interested in anything with The Maternal Sidekick world:

This Saturday I’m doing one of my last mini studio sessions so that I can focus on more slow and intimate connections behind the camera. - if you are in the st. Kits area on Sat please come on by!

As for birth/postpartum work, I won’t be taking on new clients till at least September, with more focus on birth over postpartum.
