National Advance Care Planning Day is a good reminder to take a moment and think about what matters most to you.

Advance care planning is about reflecting on your values and sharing your healthcare wishes with the people you trust. Starting these conversations early can help make future decisions clearer for everyone involved.

However small, steps taken today can bring reassurance and mutual understanding for your family tomorrow.

By naming a lunar crater after Commander Reid Wiseman’s late wife, Carroll, the Artemis II crew honoured a deeply human impulse: the desire to ensure the people who shape our lives are remembered.

Even as humanity reaches farther into space exploration and deeper into the universe, moments like these remind us how essential love and remembrance are. Neither distance nor time can diminish the meaning of honouring those we hold close.

The Artemis II crew proposed new names for two lunar craters on Monday as they continued their spaceflight. One of the names was Carroll, after the late wife...

After 16 years with Arbor Memorial, including 8 years as Manager of L.G. Wallace Funeral Home, we are proud to congratulate Paul Shedden on his retirement.

Paul has been a trusted and compassionate leader, known for his steady presence, professionalism, and unwavering dedication to the families and community he served.

Under his leadership, L.G. Wallace was guided with integrity and care through some of life’s most meaningful and challenging moments. Beyond the funeral home, Paul also made valuable contributions to the profession through his work on the Crematorium Regional Committee.

Paul’s leadership and commitment have left a lasting legacy that will not be forgotten. We thank him sincerely for his many years of service and wish him nothing but happiness, good health, and fulfillment in this well‑earned next chapter.

Please join us in celebrating Paul and wishing him all the best. 💚

Many people are surprised by how many myths still surround funerals. The truth is, a funeral doesn’t have to be a sombre event. It’s a space for connection, comfort, and honouring a life in a personal way.

Because every family is different, each funeral reflects what matters most to the people who loved them, creating a celebration as unique as the person being remembered.

In times of grief, this quote reminds us that love doesn’t end.

It becomes a part of our story, our strength, and our heart.

We carry our loved ones with us, always. 🤍

Letting go of items doesn’t mean letting go of memories.

It’s normal to feel some guilt when sorting through a loved one's belongings, but know that releasing certain items does not weaken the bond you shared.

Take your time, honour your feelings, and allow yourself the space you need to make the right decisions.

Community is at the heart of everything we do. 💛

Today, we’re honoured to share this photo of the Wilson family, the family of our very own Funeral Director, Emily. Their generous donation in support of the Hamilton Dream Centre Easter Donation Run is a beautiful reminder of the compassion and kindness that exists within our LG Wallace family and the greater community.

With the Easter season upon us, small acts of giving can make a meaningful difference for local families in need. This ongoing donation drive is taking place at six local funeral homes, including LG Wallace, and every contribution—big or small—helps bring hope, comfort, and joy this Easter.

✨ Let’s keep the momentum going. ✨
We invite other families and community members to join us by donating and helping ensure no family goes without this Easter season.

Thank you to Emily and the Wilson family for leading with heart. 🤍

📍 Donations can be dropped off at LG Wallace and our participating funeral homes.

------------------------------------------

The month of March is dedicated to celebrating the French language and the richness of Francophone cultures around the world. La Francophonie Month highlights the vibrancy, heritage, and shared identity carried through French.

This year’s theme, “active ta francophonie,” encourages engagement and connection within the Francophone community. It’s an opportunity to appreciate, learn, and celebrate a language that brings people together, especially here in Canada.
