About HEI

In 1967, a small group of thoughtful, committed individuals came together to create yet another innovation for McMaster – the first clinical epidemiology department in Canada. Since then, HEI continues to conduct world-leading research into the nature, prevention and management of health care problems. HEI is where evidence-based medicine got its start, and where modern-day clinical epidemiology came into its own.
