Feelings and thoughts are different from facts because they originate from different aspects of our human experience.

Feelings and thoughts are subjective experiences that arise from our individual perceptions, emotions, and internal states. They are influenced by our personal beliefs, values, experiences, and biases. As such, they can vary from person to person and may not necessarily reflect an objective reality.

Feelings and thoughts involve interpretation and meaning-making.

It’s possible that what we are thinking, can be a fact, however, this involves fact checking; confirming what are facts; and what is our own interpretation, before we choose to act on any given thought or feeling.

Sometimes others may experience emotional pain, even when we are simply being honest, sincere and respectful in our sharing.

This does not necessarily mean that we have done something wrong.

Experiencing emotional pain can still be considered a healthy experience, even though uncomfortable.

This can occur when individuals are engaging in difficult, but necessary conversations.
