On July 28, 2025, people around the world will acknowledge World Hepatitis Day in an effort to raise awareness about viral hepatitis and the global effort to eliminate it.
The Hamilton Hep C team, Hamilton Public Health, Positive Health Network and other organizations will be that day at Gore Park, King St E and Hughson St to share information and some goodies with everyone who is nearby. The Hep C will be also doing HIV and Hep C testing!

PLDI, Leadership training experience for people living with HIV/AIDS:

PLDI is a training program designed to empower individuals living with HIV/AIDS by strengthening leadership skills, fostering community engagement, and inspiring future leaders.
This will be a wonderful opportunity for you to participate, relax, and let the facilitators guide you through the experience. All participants and facilitators will be HIV positive and come from different parts of Ontario, creating a truly inclusive and supportive environment. I’m excited to share that applications for the Positive Leadership Development Institute (PLDI) are now open!

England will be the first country in the world to start vaccinating people against the s*xually transmitted infection gonorrhoea. It will not be available for everyone. The focus will mainly be on gay and bis*xual men with a history of multiple s*xual partners or an STI. The vaccine is 30-40% effective, but NHS England hopes it will reverse soaring numbers of infections. There were more than 85,000 cases in 2023 – the highest since records began in 1918.

The treatment will be offered to those most at risk from August after a record number of cases.
