Beginnings Family Services is proud to recognize Children & Youth in Care Day 2026 and stand alongside young people in and from care across Ontario.

This year’s theme, Rising in Strength and Story, is a meaningful reminder that children and youth in care are so much more than the systems they navigate. They are individuals with voices, dreams, resilience, and stories that deserve to be heard, honoured, and celebrated.

At Beginnings, we believe every child and youth deserves to feel seen, valued, supported, and connected. We recognize the importance of creating spaces where young people can embrace their identity, share their experiences, and know they belong.

Today, we honour the strength of children and youth in and from care and reaffirm our commitment to supporting families, connections, and community.

To every young person with lived experience in care: your voice matters, your story matters, and your future matters.

At Beginnings, we are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to work alongside so many compassionate and dedicated nurses across Ontario. We witness the care, empathy, and professionalism they bring when supporting birth parents facing some of the most difficult decisions of their lives.

It is always a pleasure when we can work together in harmony, united in the best interests of our clients and committed to providing compassionate care every step of the way.

To all the nurses who give their long hours, heart, and soul to this work — thank you. Your dedication does not go unnoticed, and we deeply appreciate everything you do.

Today, on Mother’s Day, we honour all the journeys that lead to motherhood, each one unique, meaningful, and deeply personal.

We celebrate mothers who have grown their families in many different ways, including adoptive mothers whose love is intentional, steadfast, and life-changing.

We also hold space for those who are still waiting, for the hopeful mothers in the in-between, carrying love, anticipation, and uncertainty. Your journey matters, too.

Today, we recognize the many paths, the many stories, and the many ways love makes a mother.

Today is Birth Mother's Day. A day to publicly honour and recognize the strength, love, and complexity of birth mothers’ journeys.

For many, this day carries a mix of emotions; love, loss, pride, grief, and hope. We hold space for all of it.

We acknowledge the courage it takes to make deeply personal decisions, and the lasting connection that exists between birth mothers and their children. Your stories matter, your experiences are valid, and your role is never forgotten.

We see you, we respect you, and we honour you.
