Last weekend, our Long-Term Care residents enjoyed a sweet treat thanks to some delicious Tim Hortons Smile Cookies! 🍪

It’s amazing how something as simple as a cookie can spark so much joy, laughter, and of course—big smiles. Sometimes the sweetest moments really are the simplest ones.

Anchors aweigh… Cruise Week has officially set sail at Wentworth Heights! After being docked a little longer than planned last month (turns out outbreaks don’t make great travel companions), we’re back on course and set sail together.

Last week, our final stop brought us to the breathtaking beauty of France 🇫🇷. To celebrate, we gathered for a special Captain’s Table Dinner inspired by French cuisine.

Our taste buds took a journey of their own with a delicious menu featuring a charcuterie board to start, hearty beef bourguignon with vegetables, and a sweet crème brûlée to finish.

A special highlight of the evening was having our resident Olympians and Green Bench celebrities serve as the captains of the night, helping guide us on this French adventure at sea!

As Cruise Week comes to an end, we’re docking with full hearts, full bellies, and wonderful memories of the journey we shared together. Until next time!

Mary Millar is a dedicated and compassionate volunteer that never says no when asked to help.

Mary volunteers regularly with a smile on her face and consistently goes above and beyond to support others. She helps with the General Store, Residents’ Council, writes birthday cards for long-term care residents, calendar delivery, and so many of the everyday details that help the Village feel welcomed and cared for. She even helps clean up after programs without ever needing to be asked.

Mary’s reliability, warmth and willingness to help make her someone the community can always count on. We are proud to honour her as a Barb Schlegel Volunteer Award recipient.

On Wednesday night, we had the honour of celebrating our incredible volunteers at the Ruby with a festive “Ignite the Night” celebration in recognition of National Volunteer Week and this year’s theme, Ignite Volunteerism.

To each and every one of our volunteers — thank you for your time, compassion, and kindness. Your dedication is the heartbeat of our Village, and the impact you make each day does not go unnoticed. We are so grateful for all that you do. ❤️

Happy Easter! 🐣

This afternoon we hopped into one of our favourite annual traditions — the Easter Parade. Each float was beautifully decorated with creative Easter themes, and it was wonderful to see the time and effort everyone put into making them so special.

The parade brought lots of smiles and laughter. It was truly an egg-cellent way to celebrate the holiday together.

Today we hosted our annual Easter Egg Hunt and activities for the children — complete with egg hunting, colouring, cookie decorating, and even a special visit from the Easter Bunny! 🐰✨

It was heartwarming to see so much joy and excitement as the children enjoyed the morning. We even sang some special songs and, of course, had lots of bubbles! 🫧🎶

Join us for our annual Easter Egg Hunt and activities on Saturday, April 4th! The fun begins at 10:00 AM sharp in the Community Centre.

The Green Bench film premieres tomorrow, and we couldn’t be more excited! This heartfelt film celebrates ten years of the movement and follows five remarkable residents from Schlegel Villages as they return to meaningful places in their lives, sharing their stories, memories, and wisdom along the way.

If you didn’t catch our very own residents Doug and Jan on CHCH Morning Live, be sure to check out the CHCH website to see part of their interview. Our Green Bench stars are officially in their promotional era!

We can’t wait to watch the film tomorrow and celebrate these incredible stories.
