Meet Geoff 💪 He has been working hard with Moses, our PAL (Program for Active Living) Kinesiologist, on gaining strength to stand on his own again.

They have been using the Sit to Stand Trainer and today was a personal best for Geoff! When we first met Geoff, he was rehabilitating in the hospital and needed 2 people to assist with his ADL’s.

Today Geoff is standing with the help of the Neurogymtech and our PAL team!

Throwback to our Internal Winter Olympics Tryouts earlier this month!

We’ve been reminiscing about what an incredible week it was — watching both sides of the Village come together to genuinely cheer each other on was something truly special. The competition, strength, determination, and pure joy our residents showed through sport was amazing to witness. These pictures are just a small highlight of the week and don’t even begin to capture the energy and excitement.

Our resident athletes have now been picked and have been busy working hard and practicing as we gear up to host the East Villages on February 10th — bring it on! Go Wentworth Heights! Our team colour is black. Go Team Black, go! 🖤

January is Alzheimer’s Awareness Month
Join us tomorrow from 2:00–3:30 PM to support a cause close to our hearts.

We will be selling assorted Sweet Paradise donuts 🍩and specialty coffee & tea for $8, with all proceeds going to the Alzheimer’s Society.

Come for the treats, stay for the cause. Help us make a difference. 💜

🏅 Let the Games Begin! 🏅

Today we proudly hosted our Internal Olympics Opening Ceremonies, kicking things off with excitement and spirit as tryouts begin tomorrow!

We honoured our previous Olympic champions (Ann, Adair, Sandy, Kathe and Freda) with a special passing of the torch, and the Athlete’s Oath was beautifully read by our very own 2018 Olympic Gold Medalist in hockey, Doug.

The Wentworth Heights Choir led us in a heartfelt O Canada and followed with several beautiful songs that truly set the tone for the day.

Following the ceremonies, residents enjoyed a trade show in Town Hall, where they could learn more about this year’s events, including:
* Figure Skating
* Curling
* Hockey Shoot
* Triathlon
* Ski Jump
* Snowboarding

Stay tuned for tomorrow’s Curling Tryouts at 2:30 PM on Long-Term Care Main Street!

We’re also thrilled to share that Wentworth Heights will be the Host Village for the East Villages on Tuesday, February 10th — more details coming soon!

Last night we were finally able to host our postponed Christmas Bazaar — and wow, were we ever blown away by the support! ❤️

Main Street was packed with amazing vendors, residents, team members, families, and community members out doing their last-minute Christmas shopping. Thank you to our wonderful vendors for being so flexible and for showing up to support us, even though the night looked a little different than originally planned. We truly appreciate you! .inpressed

It meant so much to see the Village and the community come together in such a big way. Only two more sleeps till Christmas! 🎄

🎄 Christmas Bazaar – New Date! 🎄

Our Christmas Bazaar has been rescheduled to Monday, December 22nd from 6:00–8:00 PM.

Check out our beautiful Christmas lights on the back patio. Enjoy a cozy cup of hot chocolate or a warm glass of mulled wine. Get your last-minute holiday shopping done!

Open to the public — everyone is welcome!

What began as a simple idea from residents Linda and Art Comely has grown into something remarkable at The Village of Wentworth Heights.

This year, the community garden blossomed into a space of purpose, connection, and leadership — a place where residents, families, and team members came together to nurture something bigger than the raised beds themselves.

With guidance from Horticultural Therapist Janine Robertson and the steady commitment of the garden club, the space became a sanctuary. Conversations flowed, stress eased, and pride flourished with every bloom and harvest.

As Schlegel Villages director of landscaping Adriaan Sizoo shared, the garden reflects the spirit of the Three Sisters: supporting, inspiring, and uplifting one another — growing better together.

What a fun Saturday afternoon on the Stonechurch neighbourhood! Even though the current outbreak means things look a little different this year, we’re still finding meaningful ways to celebrate the holiday season together.

A huge thank you to Carla Gonzalez for putting on such a wonderful and cheerful show — it truly brightened everyone’s day! And another big thank you to family member Lisa for capturing these special moments and sharing the photos and videos with us.

Even in challenging times, joy finds its way.

Last night we celebrated in style for our Annual Christmas Dinner! We enjoyed spiked egg nog, a turkey dinner with ham, all of the fixings, gourmet soup and so much more!

Thank you to the hospitality team for making this night so special and hosting a wonderful Christmas dinner!

Yesterday we watched something truly special unfold, a resident and a team member sitting side-by-side, swapping stories about their lives, passions, hobbies, fears, favourite memories, and even a few honest regrets. Their banter was effortless, their connection undeniable, and together they created a wholesome, heartfelt presentation that left everyone smiling. Moments like these remind us why community matters so much.

🎄 POSTPONED 🎄

We regret to share that the Village of Wentworth Heights Christmas Bazaar scheduled for Saturday, November 29th, has been postponed due to an influenza outbreak. This decision was made with great care and in full alignment with public health protocols to keep our Village safe.

A new date will be announced once the outbreak has cleared.

Thank you to all of our wonderful vendors, volunteers, and community members who planned to join us. We truly appreciate your support, understanding, and patience during this time.
