I am so fckiing excited to share with my community my new logo that has blossomed from a new layer of my practice’s rename and refresh!

My integration was magically captured by my dear friend and lifelong tattoo artist Indiaama. someone who has witnessed chapters of my life in ink and in silence

There are seasons where a name no longer holds the full weight of the work. Hustle Heal Motivate carried the beginning of my private practice the integration of two world coming together.

Since then, I have grown in many ways and inevitably so did the way I practice psychotherapy. Slower, more intentional more honest with the body. This integration into a new layer has made space for Hustle to Heal Embodied Psychotherapy.

Not a rejection of where I started, but a return to what was underneath it all along while honouring both the hustle and the healing as both are the reason I am alive.

This new logo marks that threshold. The peony lives at the centre for a reason. A peony spends nearly a full year preparing for a single bloom. Layer by layer forming beneath the soil, unseen, cyclical, patient, never rushing the season that made it.

Therapy is like that. Most of the work is not visible. But when the bloom comes, it looks effortless — as if it was always meant to open. This practice is devoted to that kind of healing. The kind grown, not forced.

I have grown and HHM had grown in so many ways over the past few years. I have completed my second Masters - Counselling Psychology, became a Certified EMDR therapist through EMDRIA, completing my Advanced level Somatic Experiencing Practitioner training and the mountains of personal growth amd healing i continue to do. A refresh feels needed to capture all of this growth.

Happy to now be a fully Certified EMDR therapist through EMDRIA

I fell in love with EMDR when I witnessed its capacity to relieve some symptoms for people who never thought relief was possible.

EMDR is one of the many interventions that I practice. If you are interested in learning more if EMDR therapy is for you book a free consult. 🩷

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a psychotherapy approach designed to help people process and heal from distressing or traumatic memories. It works by using bilateral stimulation, such as side-to-side eye movements, to help the brain reprocess painful memories, reducing their emotional intensity and impact.

Developed by Francine Shapiro in the late 1980s, EMDR is especially effective for PTSD and other trauma-related conditions. It helps individuals gain relief from symptoms like flashbacks, anxiety, and negative self-beliefs, fostering a sense of emotional resilience and well-being.🩷

For many grounding, meditation and mindful activities and even slowing down or deepening breathing can feel distressful or even unsafe. Here are a few ways to flirt with the edges of grounding or anchoring that I often use in practice or have even for myself as a person who would go into panic in meditation or even yoga.

It Is okay and even perfectly normal for You to feel distress or not feel safe or calm when doing grounding work, mindfulnesS, visualization, AND or breathwork. Especially for those who have experienced significant overwHelm and trauma.

What are some ways that you have used to feel safe in your body or help orient to the present moment.

Over the past 4 years I have fallen in love with EMDR and its capacity to resolve complex issues especially for those who never thought that would be possible. Many clients have said when doing EMDR that it was their first time they have felt like they were doing therapy. 💗🫶

Not every approach is suitable for everyone and EMDR doesn’t always fit with every person. In full transparency the first time I was in the client seat doing EMDR I did NOT love it. I felt nauseous and it hurt my eyes. Learning that there are different ways of administering EMDR through various bilateral stimulation I found a BLS that worked for me. It just took time and openess to exploring what worked for me.

HHM was inspired from my personal journey, a lifetime of existing in survival. My struggle through life’s tough stuff has had a profound impact on me shaping the person I am today, allowing me to navigate through life’s challenges in unique ways. This birthed my HUSTLE, my desire to HEAL, to shift and disrupt my narrative that was created for me, I was MOTIVATEd to become everything I was told I couldn’t.

After many years of being street involved, witnessing my community being targeted by police, impacted by social policy and decimated by overdose deaths, I was sponsored to enter university as a mature student. Access to academia allowed me to break generational barriers while developing new ways to create change for my community. A life defining moment at 8 months pregnant, I earned a B.A. graduating on the Honour List.

Since then I have dedicated my efforts to working with people from a life that I intimately knew by providing a harm reduction approach to crisis support, frontline counseling and advocacy for some of the most oppressed and marginalized populations including street based s*x workers, homeless populations, people who use drugs, and prisoners.

I have been awarded for my ongoing efforts to challenge harmful drug policies and anti-s*x work laws and for my activism for s*x workers’ and drug users’ rights. In 2016, I received a Master’s in Public Policy, Admin and Law where I completed my thesis Remembering Bedford, on the impacts of the criminalization s*x work. This research was published in the international journal S*x Work and has been referenced in MacLean’s, NOW magazine, and legal hearings confrounting criminalization.
