As our community continues to evolve, so do the ways we provide support. Due to declining use and the loss of our secure web platform, Kemp Care Network will be discontinuing the Grief Text and Chat Line at this time.

We are deeply grateful for the meaningful impact this program had, especially for those living with grief during the isolation and uncertainty of COVID-19.

Supporting those experiencing loss remains at the heart of what we do. We invite you to explore our wide range of free Grief and Bereavement Support Programs, including over 40 grief groups each year, 1:1 adult grief counselling, Compassionate Listeners, and counselling for parents and children living with grief.

Our Day Wellness clients got creative making Valentine’s cards, sharing smiles and messages that brightened the space for everyone. Meanwhile, our Social Committee spread appreciation with baskets of cookies for staff, a small gesture to say thank you for the care, dedication, and compassion they bring every day.

On Valentine's Day, we may be reminded of the death of someone we love, especially if that loss was a partner or spouse. How can we show our love to someone who is no longer physically with us?

Whether it's reflecting on how their love made us feel, writing a card to share what we would say if they were here, or doing something that you used to do with your loved one, we hope that above all, you extend love and kindness towards yourself.

At Kemp Care Network, our work is grounded in compassion, dignity, and respect, particularly during times of vulnerability, illness, and loss. Black History Month invites us to honour the histories, contributions, and lived experiences of Black individuals and communities, and to reflect on how these continue to shape health care and belonging today.

In hospice and palliative care, equity matters. It shows up in how we listen, how we build trust, how we recognize systemic barriers, and how we ensure that every person, resident, family member, staff member, and volunteer feels seen, respected, and supported.

This month and throughout the year, we remain committed to (un)learning, reflection, and action that strengthen inclusive, compassionate care for all.
