Last week I had the privilege of attending the Lieutenant Governor’s Circle for Mental Health True Awards at the Government House in Edmonton!

It was an absolute honour to be nominated for and to win the True Grit Award, an award presented to Inspiring individuals who use their lived experience with mental health and addiction to inspire and help others to get help with their mental health or addiction struggles and strives to further services!

It is truly amazing to be able to help others through my own lived experience, my business Safety Stop Harvest Sky and the work I do with the Rural Mental Health Project!

Thank you so much to Tasha Bozek for always believing in me and nominating me for this award, and thank you to everyone who wrote me letters of support, or has supported me through this journey I wouldn’t be here without you!!

Alice also got a pin from the Lieutenant Governor as she was the youngest person to ever attend the awards!

The Girl Guides Going on the trip to Europe Next summer are doing a first aid kit fundraiser with Canadian Safety Supplies!

What a great time to stock up your club or group with safety supplies and get ready for your summer adventures!!

We will have order forms at the spaghetti supper or you can reach out directly to order!

Thank you everyone for the last 5 years of supporting my business! I truly appreciate each and everyone of you that have helped my business to be successful!

Here’s some helpful reminders!

*First Aid certifications expire every 4 years! If you recertify before you expire you can take the 1 day course instead of the 2 day course!

*Check the supplies in your first aid kit regularly to make sure it’s fully stocked and items in it aren’t expired!

* AED pads need to be replaced every 2-5 years if they have not been used as the conductive gel dries out! And make sure to check batteries regularly to ensure they still hold a charge and are ready for use!

*For buisness’ to be compliant with OH&S guidelines at least one person trained in first aid must be onsite during all hours of operation

These last 5 years have been wonderful and I am looking forward to teaching many more first aid courses, babysitting courses, providing naloxone training and kits, workplace drug & alcohol testing as well as Rural Mental Health Network & Mental Health Advocacy!
