Our very own MFR volunteer, Instructor and Community Services Coordinator Christina spends a week each summer running a Firefighter camp where she shares her love of Fire & St John Ambulance, this year adding Hanover Police and Grey County Paramedics.
CAMP 911 - where we focus on the vital services that help keep our community safe.

From August 5th to 8th, we proudly hosted Camp 911 alongside our community partners in Police, EMS, and St. John Ambulance.
From fingerprinting to ambulance tours, hands-on CPR, fire extinguisher practice, and creating a safety video at the fire station, participants experienced an unforgettable week of learning, teamwork, and fun.
Our campers were kind, encouraging, and always ready to learn. They inspired us as much as we hope we inspired them.
A special thank you to Firefighter Christina Schnell ( #183) who has led our Jr. Firefighter/Camp 911 program for the past five years. Christina reminds us of the power of mentorship, sharing this quote with the campers:
“As one person I cannot change the world – but I can change the world of one person.” – Paul Shane Spear
We also extend a big thank you to our student volunteers, who gave their time and energy to help make the week such a success.
We hope this week made a difference for each participant and maybe even sparked future first responders here in Hanover.
👏 Thank you to all our campers, parents, community partners, and volunteers for making this year’s Camp 911 our best one yet!
