A great reminder as spring arrives 🌱
If you use a private well, regular water testing is an important step in keeping your household safe. Free testing is available across Grey‑Bruce—learn more below.

With spring’s arrival, Grey Bruce Public Health is encouraging anyone with a private well to test their drinking water by taking advantage of Public Health Ontario’s complimentary testing service.

Residents can pick up a well water sample collection kit and drop off samples at any of the 14 pick-up/drop-off locations throughout Grey-Bruce, including GBPH. Submitted samples are tested by Public Health Ontario (PHO) for bacterial indicators of contamination, specifically E. coli and total coliforms, which can make people sick and can even be fatal.

Hanover & District Hospital is proud to share the results of our 2025–26 Global Workforce Survey. This year’s results show continued momentum built on an already strong foundation of respect, teamwork, and patient centred care.

Staff reported meaningful improvements across work life balance, stress, inclusion, and leadership support — with many patient care indicators remaining above 90% positive.

We are grateful for the dedication of our teams and their commitment to shaping an exceptional workplace and care environment.

Today we recognize the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, a reminder of the importance of fostering a workplace and community where everyone feels respected, valued, and included.

This day encourages reflection on how each of us can help create an environment where dignity, fairness, and understanding guide our interactions. Small everyday actions—listening, learning, and treating one another with kindness—help build a culture where everyone can thrive.

Let’s continue to support a respectful, welcoming space for all staff, patients, families, and visitors.

It’s Poison Prevention Week — an important reminder that many everyday items can pose risks if not stored or used properly. Most poisonings are preventable, and awareness is the first step in keeping our families, patients, and community safe.
Here are a few key safety tips to keep in mind:
🔹 Store medications, cleaners, and chemicals out of reach of children and pets.
🔹 Keep products in their original containers to avoid confusion.
🔹 Never mix chemicals, as some combinations can be dangerous.
🔹 Check medicine labels carefully before each use.
🔹 Program the Ontario Poison Centre contact information into your phone for quick access. 1-800-268-9017

Let’s work together to reduce preventable harm and promote a safer community.
Stay safe and stay informed during Poison Prevention Week!
